I was chatting with one of my uncles today when he shared an image of a five Naira note with some captions with me. Though the image is kinda hilarious, but thinking about what was written on the image, it really aroused many questions in me.

1. What commodity/good can one buy with #5 nowadays?
2. What is d essence of the denomination when it cannot independently buy any item?

Below are d items u could get at a retail price of #5 before but u couldn't now.
1. Pure water (sachet)
2. Razor (blade)
3. Matches (a box)
4. Sugar
5. Biscuits (coastal, cabin, etc)

You can add yours and as well tell us if there is anything still selling @ #5.
Thank you.

In this regime
Nothing

Its not compulsory for every denomination note to buy something.

In UK, what can one pence buy?
In USA, what can one cent buy?

Bros you dey look me? I am asking you a question...oorgh....ge ra ra hia mehn

..the sad fate of the Naira.
there are still a few things though, such as ..
▪Tom Tom or Buttermint sweets
▪Chewing gum.
▪Nylon bags in the market (small ones).
▪Stationery such as erasers .
▪Photocopy, with power supply (Nepa)
..and some more.

Naira and kobo; pounds and pence; Dollar and cent.
OP is talking of 5 Naira and not 5 kobo as u are already quoting 1 pence. U know 5 pounds can feed u for one week. ITK.

you lucky you are not here..walahi i for slap u..

Did i talk of them in terms of naira and kobo..i am talking about note denomination. Can you find any note denomination in nigeria lower than 5 naira?

Same way one pence is the smallest denomination you can find in the UK.

Dont ever try to compare pence to kobo sir. We have one thousand naira denonjnation, the highest they have is £50. So focus on the topic "lowest denomination of the currency" and not "value of our currency"
