Why won't he pay, now that court has ordered for a re-run Election. Crazy Foolish Politicians. Well let the workers enjoy while it lasts... Cheers.

Since when has salary paying become an achievement worth reporting like this?
APC nonsense

Yet several PDP governors are still not paying anything.

Another trick he employs is reducing Imo state to Owerri since he joined APC.
Google it, no body can trace any presence of development project from Okorocha govt in any area outside Owerri zone since he joined APC.

Abeg, which court ordered a rerun election? If it is in Imo state guber election, this man can't get more than 2% votes. The 2% can only come from the state capital.

I quite disagree with you.I used to be among those criticizing Gov Okorocha of not doing well in Imo state, but my recent stay in Imo state has really proved me wrong.I believe that it is a calculated media propaganda by the opposition and the elites in the state who have been used to sharing the states' allocation and are no longer benefiting from the state purse that are spearheading the campaign to smear his administration. Most people criticizing him is based on what they heard.Apart from Gov Mbakwe,no other past governor can compare with Okorocha in Imo state. We should all encourage him and not crucify him.The fact still remain that most states find it difficult to pay their workers as a result of the present economic brouhaha.Rich states, like Bayelsa is owing workers more than seven months salary,it is not only peculiar to Imo State.

3months? out of how many...Anyway I'm sure civil servants in Imo State will say he's the best governor now...But to be candid the man is trying, the media is just trying to paint him in a bad light cos he belongs to the ruling party...kudos Okorocha... ride on!!!

Its not about media, come to Imo State and see things for yourself, and please don't come with your car, lest you run mad, due to the roads.

the issue of paying monthly salaries has been a problem for many states and this has led to suffering among workers and it is telling on the masses as well because it is when workers are paid that they will think of buying or carrying out any other things.
kudos to this man for putting his workers in mind there are still some states far lacking behind

He's not putting anybody in mind, almost all Imo workers are on the strike, the Courts have been closed since April because he's owing them since last year, among other agencies. Come to Imo and see for yourself.

Governor Rochas Okorocha has ordered payment of three months salary arrears to Imo State civil servants.
With the governor’s directive, workers will get April,May and June salaries at once.

Okorocha, who gave the directive at the weekend during a meeting with Directors of Accounts, Treasurers and Permanent Secretaries at the Government House, assured that henceforth, salaries of civil servants would be paid as and when due.

The governor also set up a committee which would be liaising with the directors of Accounts and the stat’s Accountant-General every month to ensure prompt payment of the salaries of civil servants.

However, Okorocha explained that the 70 and 30 percent revenue sharing formula between labour and the state government does not mean that workers would get only 70 percent of their salaries at the end of each month.
The governor said they could get more, depending on the revenue profile of the state at a particular month.

Is it not better you pay them one month salary of 100% than to pay them 3 months of 70% each?

Why is payment of salaries making news? When the civil servants were reporting to their duties daily was it making news too?
