Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu, handed over to the new Group Managing Director of NNPC, Maikanti Baru, today July 8th. Kachikwu will now assume the position of Chairman of the corporation.

Something tells me Kachuchwu must have acquiesced in this decision. He would have long sent in his resignation letter if he was kept in the dark about it. I even heard from some sources that Gen TY Danjuma recommended him to Buhari. So, it is hard to think that Buhari would have removed Kachukwu without consulting the duo.
