First it was our very own blogger, which is to show, nobody is infallible but I don't believe such. Linda can be pardoned cos she's not a professional, but news reporters are trained and before any news is broadcasted, the contents has to be reviewed by their editors. This is unpardonable ![]()

There is no mistake in that! "11 officers killed, 4 dead". It means 11 officers were killed and 4 other people of unknown identity also died in that incidence. 15 people(11 + 4) died/killed all together! |

Oyibo thinking they know all since age Zero... Nobody, I repeat nobody is above mistake. Do you think God just decided to be called Alpha and Omega or Jehovah? He earned it because HE is GOD above mistake. Forsake your pride and only Trust God jare. |

They are right. You can be killed but not yet confirm dead.on a doctor has right to declare a killed or dead person dead in a developed country. And also they may be reporting the issue as a compound independent situation but in fax. Officers are 11 while may be civilians 4. Better be educated. Again to linda , she was right. A corpse is a dead body , may have been confirmed dead or not. If she sees a corpse because of absence of life from her visual inspection then she can later say that to be dead after confirmation. Thanks |

Gosh! Where is the blunder? 11 officers killed 4 dead meaning 4 other people died. Making a total of 15 people. Some people really need to sharpen their English |

There is nothing wrong in that news report. 11 officers were probably shot dead and four other anonymous people also died. That's why a comma was put beside 'killed'. It would have been a dash (—) if the phrase that followed was about the dead police officers. Punctuation says a lot, OP. |

I goofed, the 4 reported dead may be civilians |

| Re: American News Channel Headline Hits A Blunder (photos) by jlinkd78(m): 1:10pm On Jul 09, 2016 |
Talk2bryant:Thanks for acknowledging you might have goofed and u earn my respect for that. 11 killed were Officers while the other 4 were probably not officers hence totalling 15 dead bodies in all. |

but news reporters are trained and before any news is broadcasted, the contents has to be reviewed by their editors. This is unpardonable [/quote]op,you are the one that dropped blooper. The past tense of "broadcast" remains "broadcast" and not "broadcasted". |
