Just woke up and na you I sight first grin grin grin

Directional Drilling what's the display of ignorance there? I'll not glorify you with the explanation here ok, but I like your sense of humor cuz you got just one 'like'

Compressor stations,; outdated currently cuz our natural gas got a lot of pressure to travel far, crude on the other hand from the Chad basin which I know nothing of its constituent gas or pressure unless you're telling you did the PVT matching and analysis for itit grin gringrin

Guy, let it rest. Leave the technical part to the experts. No be by wetin you read for textbook. No need mixing midstream with upstream.

Not sure oil will remain in the ground in Niger Delta if oil is found and drilled in commercial quantities up North. I imagine that Delta Oil will then be exploited by the Major Western powers (especially France) through proxies on the ground and our oil carted off to Neighboring Nations like Cameroon, Benin etc. Also our oil will find its way to the Far East, marshaled away by Asian criminal syndicates, similar to the trade in Animal and animal parts such as ivory and Rhino horns. The ordinary Niger Delta people will get nothing but wars between Militant Groups financed by foreign interests. This will keep Deltans occupied while their wealth is stolen. Africa is full of examples -from Sierla-leon's blood Diamond to Congo's Coltans.

Luckily for us Delta Nigerians, Nigeria is not a banana republic, the rest of Nigeria will not let any part of Nigeria be exploited and destroyed in this way and our resources carted off.... grin

And that, my friend, is the irony of it all.

I can't believe some people are celebrating this nonsense. Who in his right sense will want to go to boko haram compound in the name of drilling oil. Is buhari that stupidd. Jihad war doesn't end. They will still strike again and again. If it's a drug cartel or oil militant they have human sympathy. But jihad militant? If they catch you in close range they will butcher you into minced meat. If they like let them find Saudi Arabia in lake Chad, na wash.

Eyaaahhh sorry hope you are not angry.

Every history book u read testify that the Igbos system of government pre colonial is top notch

biafra did not unite the Igbos rather... information is now free online and people are now wise.

the lagos Ibadan expressway media has been defeated...

Apparently you don't understand what I'm referring to. Though I didn't explicitly state my main point, it's a subtle message. Forget history and remember that the human society evolves over time.
The past has no control on the present.
Look at the undertones and see what I mean, and if you can't.... Step aside

Very narrow and short sighted reasoning. You think oil will last forever? Have you bothered to think about the sustainability of the society?

Besides, other countries are fighting for world/economic domination we're here fighting over limited oil.

If Chad can be exploring its oil from the same Lake Chad basin, who says oil can't be on the Nigerian side too.

That was how they said Lagos cannot have oil and the rest is history today. Ondo cannot have oil and the rest is history today. Ogun State is also loading.

The sooner the oil exploration starts in NE the better for us all. It balances the scale of power and render the over heard slogan of ''our oyel'' useless and DOA.

I believe there is oil locked down in most places. Its the technology to bring it out that keeps improving.
E.g very close to where i work (not Nigeria), It has just been discovered that pumping carbon dioxide back into the formation increases the yield/output of oil rigs in the field.
(fracking but by using co2).
fracking sef dey develop.

Anyway, Oil is being abandoned for green energy, so income from it is going to be short lived anyway.
Coal was the main source of energy before discovery of crude, now crude is being set aside for green energy. e.g Norway is stopping the sale of cars using refined products of crude oil in 2025. Funny thing is that Norway has lots of oil too.

And that translates to Geologists running the show? There are several lawyers and non engineering majors that are CEOS of E&P's in the US. Does it mean lawyers are now the go to guys for those companies? You do realize, the MD you mentioned reports to HQ right? The real person calling the shots for Chevron is in San Ramon. Guess what, he is neither a pet engr or geologist so there goes your theory. Feel free to Google Chevron CEO. You think all the decisions are made in naija?

CO2 injection is not new. Tertiary recovery is actually becoming quite efficient. Denbury resources based out of Texas has been very successful with CO2 in east texas. With regards to Oil, forget all that green story. Until you find an alternative way to produce the feedstock, in commercial quantities, for making plastics, petroleum jelly, vaseline, plastic bags aka naija nylon bags etc, the list goes on, oil will remain d go to guy. Sure dependence on oil for car transportation may reduce but oil will still be here.

Lol oil in the north doesn't trip me at all because I know what dey will get there is crude oil with high level of sulphur which is called bitter or hard crude and crude oil buyers don't buy it in large quantity because it is very expensive to refine compared with the light or sweet crude in the niger delta which have small level of sulphur and less expensive to refine, nigerian can never do without the niger delta crude because it is the best worldwide
Re: Crude Oil Drilling In Lake Chad Basin To Start Soon by cjrane: 1:56pm On Jul 11, 2016
I am praying for abooki to have their oil in lake Chad so that Nigerians will experience first hand how these greedy people presently insisting on getting a lion share of Niger Delta oil will completely reject sharing the proceeds of the lake chad oil with the south. Even though it is southern money that is funding the project right now.
