Since the commencement of the CBT, there has been much technical problems that affect candidates which results into complaining or even protest. Now this method of admission JAMB is using is a very welcome method but, what if the problems in CBT continues or can't be addressed, it will now be as "luck" which means it's not how well you prepare that will determine your score but how well the CBT goes.
Then admission won't be for the mighty ones but for the lucky ones.

In the area of O'level, expect much more "miracle centers" as no one would be chasing Cs, even the less brilliant ones.

From Jamb's website you can find that they said the point grading won't favour students, which means they are not using it, as long as you have c6 and above in your 5 important subjects, your o'level result is very useful. Also, from what you posted...Jamb also said no other screening like oral or test should be conducted by universities. The screening is only verifying waec and jamb results, and other things. So, there's no stress on Waec. They are not using the point method, therefore it can't increase special centres. [/email]

The new policy is that no school must carryout another form of screening/test similar to jamb...... students should only be screened by making sure they meet all the requirements by checking their O'level, Jamb result/ Admission letter,etc, after the list of those qualified is sent to the institution....And the list of those not admitted should be sent back to jamb and they'll be posted to other institutions preferably the 2nd choice of the candidate

Is it possible for jamb to allow student do their CBT exam in soul of their choice. Students who pick Unibadan should be allowed to write their utme at UI same will apply to those who picked Unilag. So there won't be much talk about poor logistics.

Some might say what if the person who wants to apply is staying at Kaduna. My reply will be, during post utme candidates traveled all the way from far distance to write post utme at Ibadan and Lagos.

But think of this, Unilorin that is having like almost 100 thousand candidates, unilag, and other federal schools like that will be bombarded with candidates and it can cause breakdown or even more technical problems.
The schools that have less candidates will complete the exam with ease and in no time, and might even pass more than the ones using schools with much candidates.
In another word, it won't circulate, as in a school would much work more than another and favoritism may enter.
How will they do other choices such as Polytechnics, FCEs and some schools that doesn't have CBT center.

True but as we speak, how many candidate are currently writing their exam at unilorin. Am sure they are up to 100,000. As for the case of favoritism, that can only be reduce to a minimum, it cannot be eliminated.

As for too much candidates. That's more like an illusion. don't forget jamb is expected to last for like 30 days. So 100000/30= 3,333 per day. And if its too much, days should be extended.

I know for certain, CBT in Unilag can accommodate 2000 at a stretch when u combine cits, DLI, FAC of science and fss capacity.

If Unilag has two sessions per day, it means that Unilag can hold utme exam for 4000 candidates in a day.

My take on this

PPT should be restored but if it cant be then this should be carried out for CBT


1) A week proper check of CBT center and provision of power supply.
2) Employment of Professional IT personnel
3) Daily check and test run of the computer used with a day interval
4) Duration of JAMB examination should be extended,a month isn't too bad,we'll just assume itz waec or neco.

Am not sure, there is any university that does not have CBT, it maybe small. Lautech for example may have just 300 computer for example, those choosing lautech too are quite not much.

Let's now assume Fuoye has no CBT, and like 5000 chose that skul, futa or eksu can accommodate those students.

I just want a situation whereby students won't have issues with their computers which is common with these mushroom CBT jamb centres.

its fair but its also a function of the scores of others. If you are from a catchment state, I believe you got a big chance though.
