The Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu on Tuesday said the current government takes into cognisance the life of every Nigerian. Shehu, in a terse statement on his Facebook page, made the declaration in the wake of the recent killings by suspected Fulani herdsmen across the country and soft attacks by Boko Haram insurgents in the North East. “The life of every single Nigerian matters to this government and the security agencies, under the command of President Buhari, will continue to exert all its powers to ensure that every Nigerian is safe from the brutality of terrorists and terrorism. Good Morning!,” Shehu said.

SSA with the greatest respect, it is the duty of your good office to gauge public opinion and manage the information for the Presidency. Please be aware in case you are not, that the SSS and other security agencies ought to have given the President a very accurate account of whatever transpired by now. If they haven't, then by now someone should have been fired. In any case, I see your statement as reactive and belated. Breadwinners and innocent citizens are being mowed down by marauding murderers and it is not just about this recent incident. Let government be more proactive and pragmatic please.
