temitemi1:What of buy Niger grow Nigeria. When the elites abandon our educational institutions, how then do you think they will invest in them. To me, this is treachery against the nation. |

BlindAngel:several thousand of children of the poor are schooling abroad... |

What many may not understand is that fees for these guys may have been paid by one of the super rich hausas billionaires who are not like any we got in the South who are only interested in flaunting their wealth on Social Media. The northerners do it same way they give out alms. |

| Re: Ibrahim Yar'adua Graduates From London University by Nobody: 2:51pm On Jul 14, 2016 |
bigtt76:Late President Yaradua's asset declaration as he was assuming the presidency back in 2007 showed a net worth of N900bn naira.(if I recall correctly). Unless the money was wasted (!) after he died.....it should have been enough to pay for the young one. |

| Re: Ibrahim Yar'adua Graduates From London University by Nobody: 2:55pm On Jul 14, 2016 |
ConqueredWest:Actually, the problem with all our universities, and it is not just the Northern ones...is that they are all chronically short of cash. The way forward is either find more money for them, to the tune of N5 trillion naira (or more) per annum in extra funding (just for universities)...or raise fees to as high as N400000 per annum. If you want good...you have to pay for it. And of course....bad universities repel students. The rich and mighty ....and even some middle class and poor...are sending their children out. |

Quakertellicus1:Guy, I like you too much. Nigerians love to throw blame around for their condition but forget that they are the architect of their own dilemma and troubles. I have another scenario for you; A danfo driver is stopped by the police at a checkpoint demanding for 20 naira bribe. The driver refuses to the ire of the bus occupants. The occupants of the bus starts urging the driver to "settle am abeg make we go". Abi i lie? Does this sound like a people who want to do things differently or want a better life for themselves? |

tola400:Children of northern Nigeria elites go to the UK to study with oil money. In the UK, they learn more about how to use divide-and-rule tactics to hold south of Nigeria hostage under one Nigeria which favours only the north. But by use of uncomfortable environment of sharia criminal laws, and Boko Haram violence, this north has driven away most southerners that used to live in the north. Congrats for your degree. But you must be prepared to accept that it's not going to be business-as-usual very soon. |

BlindAngel:@ the bold part: Lies from the darkest pit of hell. Questions for you on GEJ: 1) How many wives does GEJ has and is he legally married--as in court/registry/church marriage? 2) How many children does he have; where were they born and by which of his wives? 3) Has any of GEJ'S children schooled in Nigeria, if yes, name the school(s) and the location? Please madam, endeavor to answer as many of the questions as possible and convenient for you to do OR stop spreading lies here on NL in order to launder a battered image of an IB of a leader, who presided over the worst government policies on education, which led to closure of Nigerian universities for almost one year followed by school of techs. for almost the same duration. I am not supporting leaders sending their children abroad to study, especially if they are looting public funds, but i whole-heartedly support anyone who sends their wards abroad whether or not Nigerian universities are up-to par with their foreign counterparts as long as the tuition is paid from their hard earned monies. The truth is that education has no physical nor geographical barrier and hence should be borderless. Even the Europeans and the Americans go to study abroad in Asia and vice versa. We Nigerians nay Africans need to study more aboard to garner much needed knowledge which will fast-track our development such as done by the Japanese and Chinese and now by the South Koreans. This should not in anyway deprive those students in Nigeria universities the better learning environment needed to achieve greatness in their area of specialization. Please ma, GEJ is not the ONLY culprit for the rot in the educational sector, the ministers, the vice chancellors, the hods, the professors and ASUU, and even the students themselves all have their various degree of blames to shoulder not to forget the parents for their inactions, too. Peace! |

ConqueredWest:I understand your feelings and hurt at the way things are going and to be honest this same passion and hurt is shared by millions of Nigerians . Maybe it is time we take a stand and try our own bit to change things politically in Nigeria. We don't have to be many before our voice is heard loud and clear. |
