Please state the error message you are getting or upload a screenshot of where you are having problem.

1. Do you have skpe installed on your computer, skpe make use of the port reserve for Apache that is port 80

2. Stop all program using port 80

3. Or make apache run on another port.

These are the major problem that will make apache not to run on your local machine, i am typing from my phone so I can not give you an indept tutorial on how to do this but you can always ask Google on how to do any of the above stated solution.

If the problem presit you can uninstall xamp and try wamp. Hope this point you towards the right direction. Cheers.

Change the port that Apache is running on from 80 to 8000.

1. Go to the C:\xampp\apache\conf (or whichever directory you installed xampp). Now, locate the httpd.conf .

2. Open it with any text editor (notepad or textpad) and go the line that says Listen 80.
Change this with any other port (for example Listen 1234 )

3. Save the file. Restart the server and go ahead.

4. Open your browser and type http://localhost:8000

For more info on this check this out, the first link should do the trick.

Uninstall the xammp package first. delete the registry log. Make sure microsoft IIS is not enabled from list of services. This works for me when using windows but now i use MAMP PRO for mac pro. Also make sure the needed modules are installed on your computer.

Hope this helps.
