Hw was right. When dia was no vandalism,we were all enjoying improved power until PDP saw dat as a threat to their re-emergence and began to sponsor hoodlums,NDA etc to destroy facilities so dat Nigerians can see d gov as a failure.Everything is politics and d poor masses will be at d receiving end.If u like start hailing vandalism by NDA and co(im talking to wailers),na all of us go suffer am.Fasola on point. |

He only stated the truth BUT it's actually govts responsibility to reform the police force so that people will feel comfortable giving them information on suspicious persons. Example a guy in my area even @ the height of the fuel scarcity towards the handover month of gej (that time telcos and even banks wanted to shut down services due to no fuel/diesel) was running gen 24/7... this guy no get work, always @ home, e no get laptop sef and we noticed he goes out @ night. Also he had not paid his rent for 4months o. A pastor summoned courage & reported to police, they came took him to the station and by evening he was back, police gave flimsy tale, the guy moved out of the area. Now who will even bother volunteering info next time? We all know the yahoo Boyz, the bunkerers, the suspicious characters in our areas but when police are only after money we got no choice but to keep quiet. |

bettercreature:1) isis dont bomb infrastructures since it can be used as revenue to further their inhumane agenda. bad example bruh. 2) vandalism has been a prevelent problem inthe power sector since time immemorial. heck even the previous administration made same excuse whic fashola and APC conveniently chose to ignore. the fact is fashola isnt being sincere. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/02/power-how-vandals-constrained-generation-to-4500mw-minister/ |

1. Kainji Dam Past administrations made us believe that power supply peaked in the rainy season due to river flowing more in the dam. And truly even until 2015 there was more power in the rainy seasons. 2. Gas excuse Why is it all of a sudden we hear of gas shortage? The gas has always been option 2 in the sense that gas capturing equipments are expensive and gas flaring was always an issue. 3. Private sector potential participation If Fashola is really serious, the generation is what should be privatised, just like telcos. Then dont allow a monopoly so that there will be price competition. The reality is that they know the solution but they just want to milk nigerians. If we check properly they own all the discos. This Fashola should just be cautious of his credibility waning due to his involvement with this government. |

Uncle Fash, please meet up those conditions so that we can have light because that's why you are there. You are in power now and not PDP so I don't know who you are given conditions to.... Thanks and next time you want to address the media have a better agenda not propaganda again... |

bankyman:I think its your own comment that has a problem. What can you do to improve power as a common Nigerian? Its only the government that can stop the nda from vandalising. Its only the goverment that can protect the facilities. Its only the government that can hasten contractors. Or is there any one you can fulfill? The comments so far are full of hate. I agree with you. But there's so much sense. Just be open minded |

So u r part of those dat value oil facilities than human life. Not that I support NDA but reason well b4 u make comments bettercreature: |

This is like police saying the condition for peace is for hoodlums to stop fighting themselves, then I ask what is the function of the police in the first place ? |

But they could bring nepa bill, men i am tired of all this crazy excuses |
| Re: Fashola Gives Conditions For Stable Power Supply by Horsesmouth: 10:22am On Jul 16, 2016 |
bankyman:Dont insult anybody here abeg! Who is helping MTN & glo protect their masts? If Fashola cannot operate a functional business model, he should submit a bill to privatise power generation. He can then sit back and learn how we in the private sector do business. Government has no business in business. That is a vital rule in business. That is why every company makes provision for generator and diesel before thinking of NEPA or whatever moniker they go by. Every individual buys generator and petrol to save his investment on food in d freezer before thinking of NEPA. You and Fashola should go and sit down. Its your own sensibility that is lost. |

Sigh of relief for the man, he now has where to blame his incompetence on. He'll pray NDA never stop bombing so he'll keep blaming them. |

rusher14:I would have to question your IQ if you think Fashola's statement made any sense. Alright, the pipelines need to be in good condition, but why tell us that unless they stop bombing, you can do nothing? Isn't it the Government's responsibility to secure the pipelines? "Unless hoodlums stop bombing", as if Nigerians can stop militants from bombing pipelines. What has government done to secure the pipelines? Nonsense. |

bettercreature:Get your facts right, ISiS is a terrorist org. and they cause more harm to the world in general than any militant. They bomb everything including their sympathizers. Before the so called avengers came to the lime light Nigeria has been in darkness, we as a people deserve an apology from the government not this senseless statements and cheap excuses. |

bankyman:what is ethnic n religious bigotry abt failure? its clear u are d religious and ethnic bigot here. most ppl here have only criticised his lack of will to improve power nt solve it. for God sake in rainy season no light and u talk poo. get a sense for ur brain plz. did his statement connote fixin d problem or given d poor, harmless nigerians coniditions to fight militants wit arms i guess while his family enjoy mikano generator power. i say again u are d religious and tribalistic bigot in wit animalistic thoughts and ulterances. |

tonquendo4u:so the vandals are not part of us, are not Nigerians or are aliens or d govt is 'superhuman'. Think right. U feel cure is better than prevention? And how does the govt stop them if our resources won't be involved? How easy is it for d govt? |

He spoke the truth and I don't know why people are criticising him as if it's his fault militants are bombing gas pipeline that feeds the power stations. |

bettercreature:stop defending that slowpoke minister! this total or near total darkness started ever since him and his boss came on board, while the bombing of gas pipelines started ending of February this year. So he shouldn't come out and spree rubbish to us. All this Govt know is to blame and blame! can't they look for solutions to our problems! why are they being voted for in the first place? |
