Accidents In Nnewi And Awka: Debunking Sahara Reporters' Lies! by ANSOM: 1:52am On Jul 18, 2016
It has been brought to our notice a report carried by the controversial Sahara Reporters on the road accidents which occurred separately in Anambra State at Nnewi and Awka on the 15th and 16th of July respectively.

According to the notorious Sahara Reporters, the accidents were caused by the state of bad roads which was neglected by the Government.
Anambra State Online can reliably verify that the road incidents which were unfortunate were majorly caused by reckless driving on the part of the drivers involved.

It is no longer news that the State Government embarked on a full scale various road rehabilitation projects all over the states and we can proudly say that the efforts are yielding fruits by the day. Moreover, the said roads where these accidents occurred are in good condition and motorable without any potholes as erroneously reported by SR.

The only roads which are damaged in Anambra State are mainly Federal Roads which is meant for the Government at the center to handle.
While we commiserate with the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives in these isolated and unfortunate incidents and pray for the speedy recovery of those injured, we expect Sahara Reporters to do same rather than hurriedly post unverified news on their website in order to demean the Anambra State Government and score cheap media points.

Anambra State Online hereby urges the general public to disregard the report as they are nothing but fabrications.

Signed,
Prince C
Director for Media Operations
Anambra State Online Media (ANSOM)

Sahara reporters are bloody lying yoruba bigots.

In anambra, state roads are in okay conditions. The bad roads are the federal roads criminally neglected by the almajiri terrorist in Aso rock to punish the people of Anambra for voting Jonathan.

Well, he can neglect the road for as long as he wants. it doesn't change anything. In fact, It only goes to clear any doubts in the hearts of the Thomases about how petty and wicked a man he is. The roads will be repaired someday and he will be the ONLY Nigeria former President that nothing or even street will be named after. He is a Fulani president, so let fulanis name streets and monuments after him.

While I agree with you that federal roads in Anambra State, especially the Enugu - Onitsha express way are in bad condition, I do not subscribe to your rants against Buhari and his administration. This road has been bad even before Jonathan became acting president.
Unfortunately, that's the road I use from Onitsha to Enugu each time I am going home.

I am not a partisan person and I am Igbo but leave Buhari out of this. I know when to blame him. Concentrate on Sahara reporters. They tell truth and lies at the same time all the time. But this time, they goofed because Anambra State has good roads all over the state.

To blame this administration for the enugu onitsha expressway is being economical with the truth. Am from Anambra state. Lived n schooled in Awka.

During GEJ's n Peter Obi' govt, d state government got fed govt approval to fix d road. Same for Oba-Nnewi new road (that came first sha)
CCC has completed d Oba-Nnewi road. From niger bridge to Zik's roundabout was completed by inter Bau.

RCC were given d Zik's roundabout to Amansee part which was about 10x dt given to Inter Bau. Initially, d state government was funding d project and billing d FG. Following claims of padding, d FG started direct funding. That affected RCC.

However, its only people that do not know the state or commercial drivers that are time crazy that use d express. There are many bypass roads linking d expressway to go state roads. We hardly use the express. Most parts are under construction. The state has also completed her fly overs

Its laughable to accuse Anambra state government of bad roads is laughable. SR goofed on this one

This is the job of the James Eze who happens to be the SA Media to Obiano. He is the one supposed to give this refutal but he is busy junketing the whole of USA and snapping pictures which he posts on whatsapp while an independent media outfit does his job! Pageant SA

Most roads in Anambra are presently in deplorable condition with flood and accidents taking lives while people like Chino and Obiano play politics with it. Ask residents of Ogidi what they've been going through or Obosi. You cannot cover the tummy if a pregnant woman forever.

At least, over 80% of the roads in Anambra are in far better condition than in Imo
