True wine is a product of grape. Acceptable wine can also be produced from different fruits, flowers and berries. These are usually referred to as country wine, which are comparable to commercial wines of similar type. Wines can also be made from vegetables, grains, leaf shoot and herbs. Different fruit of importance in winemaking include plantain, banana, oranges, guava, pineapple, mango, grapefruit, passion fruit, watermelon, pawpaw, jackfruit, cashew, and so on. These fruits are produced in Nigeria in commercial quantities. When in season, these fruits are available in commercial quantities far in excess of what can be consumed as fresh fruit. - See more at: http://agricignite.com/a-little-about-wine/#sthash.Kmb08PZb.dpuf

Do Nigerians really care about wine making? They just wanna drink. They don't even accept that they drink wine or alcohol on a public forum like this. Yet everyday millions of Naira worth of wine is consumed.
