Yet Saul later Paul who did worse and prosecuted the early Christians CHANGE and became the more successful biblical character and is responsible for 80% of Christian belief. Yet the moral of the story is forever lost to you and the wailing orcs horde.

He wasn't the master-mind, nor a major player like Babangida, Vasta, Bako, Idiagbon, Abacha, Bako, Gwadabe, MKO Abiola, Tunde Ogbeha, David Mark, Jokolo, Magoro, Umar, Akilu, or Dasuki, but he knew about it, and was complicit. Now, standard procedure with coup plotting is, it comes like a whirlwind, it doesn't take forever, once word is out -- it's out; you move in or abort. Irony is, once you know about it, or you're told about it, it's either you're in (part of the coup), or out (which means reporting it to the powers that be, or you are part of it). It is a life-threatening position to be in.

Most people indicted in the Vasta coup (1985) and the Diya coup (1997) were listed for execution, just for knowing about it, and not reporting it.

Buhari was selected to lead as one of the most senior . . . he might not have been a major player, but we can say he is glad about it, given his kinda sour relationship with then C-in-C Shagari.
tank u for this but u will also remember that it was a civil to military take over and,not a military to military to military as in the case of vatsa, diya etc...hence it was an arrangement within the military setting and so buhari at that time was the most senior military officer at that time. As a matter of fact it was a tug of war on whether he or IBB should have become the C-in-C..
