This is very simple.

Follow the rules of laws in your State.

It is not the job of the Government,to relocate people who build illegal structures,on grounds they should first of all not have gone near.

And one thing I know, and that is the part of the story we usually never hear. Government usually, sometimes for years tell them to move, but many usually stay put and then we get this kind of pictures.

I stand on the side of good Governance.

No to illegal structures.
Read your comment again, does it make sense to you? Do you think if these pple have alternative they will be living in shanties.... Its the government responsibility to provide good housing for the pple. That's why we pay tax... Okorocha we knw u can't make ur pple happy, pls don't make them sad.

So this is where they live in Obodo Imo , no wonder they love lagos

Back to topic , those aren't houses , and it shouldn't be a problem getting them some fees , but in reality , for something to be better it has to pass through the worse

Aregbesola took down houses in Osun

Ajimobi Busted Iwo road, gate and some other areas

Fashola & Ambo both destroyed houses and shops

But look where those cities are today huh All new, all improved all better

So let there be no complaints about this for it will give rise to something better

This okorocha is really helping APC to progress their destruction agenda in the south east. How can a govt be destroying properties where the poor and the average citizens depend for their income without any incentive , this is bad. I don't hate development, but it's good to consider those that will be mostly affected and compensate them.
You live in fools paradise

you're always a citizen of everywhere you don't know. So going inside peoples village to destroy their shops is now good governance. The report I got from my friend is that he is clearing peoples shops in the rural areas. They said he's on a revenge situation. But God dey.

Royald had once defined a fool as a person who ignored information because it disagreed with desired results.

And to every rule there is an exception—and an idiot ready to demonstrate it. Don't be the one!or are you ?

Have you seen a rich man who just buy land anywhere without due diligence? Have you also noticed that rich people always go to a properly planned areas to buy land and build houses? Why? Because before you but a land you do due diligence and you will get proper information on the area that's why the rich dudes are not affected . Go and learn but no. How will you learn when you 're filled with sentiments. Open your mind and learn

I stand with Rochas on this one, there are so many illegal structures in owerri, making the roads so shallow for movement of both pedestrians and others. Esp that Douglas of a place

Like if you support this movement grin
If you are at Owerri, and drive through the town, please tell me any road that was constructed by Rochas Okorocha that has stood the test of time.... Its not about demolishing, Rochas has a penchant for abandoning projects, please how many projects he embarked on since 2011, has he completed? There is no single good road here at Owerri, not 1, what sort of deception and wickedness is this man Rochas showing to the zombies that massively voted him twice?

So you need to destroy people's source of hope to expand your "road". Isn't it the responsibility of the "govt" to provide sufficient and accessible markets/shops in the first place. There is no sentiment, the average Nigeria politicians don't care to know what the people want/need because of greed.
Well, As an elder, I don't need to insult to make my point. I believe you will get to understand better as years go by.

You cant demolish someones property without due compensation. Alot of people live in those slums cos they can't afford to pay for proper accommodation.

the structures are not illegal for point of correction. he wants to make the road four lanes. at least he shld have taken the time to find out those that are residential buildings for compensation and the stores should have waited till December since they have finished paying house rent bf now. truthfully those buildings are far away from the poles and the structure he is bringing in now is not imo state master plan but a new one so he shld have taken it easy

You saw shanties and started talking.

This is a footbridge built a short while ago on Okigwe road, IMSU Junction, Owerri by Gov. Okorocha.

He is now demolishing the bridge because he now wants to widen the road. Look at the monumental loss.

In four years, many roads scrapped and abandoned by this Okorocha govt in Okigwe and Orlu have caused under-development and depopulation of these towns.
All appeals to the governor to complete the roads dropped on deaf ears. The man is pitched on Owerri since he joined APC.

Owerri has very few bad roads if you are being truthful. Don't misrepresent facts because of politics. Some of the roads he is reconstructing now were reconstructed in his 1st tenure but then he was doing window dressing because the Government at the center was against him making him unable to take difficult decisions that might infuriate the masses. He was a populist Governor but not very purposeful. What I am seeing in his 2nd tenure is actual solution and to develop a lot of sacrifices must be made by all.

I commend him for taking the bull by the horn but what must be done is to compensate the poor who survived at the shanties and illegal structures. I know the structures are illegal but sometimes we tamper justice with mercy because of the economic conditions we are facing at the moment.
