The office of the
Independent National
Electoral Commission
(INEC) in Bori, Khana local
government area of Rivers
state has been reportedly
set ablaze by unknown
persons.

The attack on the office of
commissions is coming nine
days to the July 30 rerun
election in Rivers state.
The arson attack was
confirmed by an eyewitness,
Kennedy Friday, who posted it
on Facebook.
“I have just received news this
morning that the INEC office
in Bori is on fire. The whole
building is set ablaze,” he
posted.
The incident has also been
confirmed by the,
spokesperson of the Rivers
state police command
confirmed the Omoni
Nnamdi.
He said: “I have received the
report but don’t have details
yet. I will provide details when
I get to the office .”
It will be recalled that INEC
cancelled the election in the
area on March 11 due to
violence.

This people really want to turn Rivers state to Armageddon all because of politics. I wish their sons will be the ones used as the knights the same way they are the first to be given juicy jobs when their fathers win the election. But no, poor sons of the peasants will jump at the offer and will end up being slain like fowls. |
