I got a few pictures from the 60’s and 70’s that’s got me wishing I was born then. Compared to what we have now, should I say I prefer the olden days? No doubt the ‘now’ has it’s pro’s but the average Nigerian is yet to experience that. As a people, we still remain hopeful.

What is so special about those pictures? Look, in those days, people were suffering, even more than today. You were lucky to have two pieces of meat in your food back then, unlike today when even beggars order "assorted" with their food. Back then we never used that term. It was mama, put one meat. Or two meat.Telecoms was virtually zero. You could be living in Ketu, and you would travel to the island for an appointment, through 4 hrs of 'go slow', only to reach there and be told "oga don't travel. Come back next week". Today, before making such a trip, you will quickly call them on your phone to make sure oga is in the office. In fact, you children don't know what you have now, honestly. Is like you are a sadist. The age where we had social order and we knew who we are (may be who we were) unlike today.

The truth is that I will comfortably take care of you and your family within 2 hours of wide chase expedition in a nearby forest in those days.

Happiness is a standard for measuring satisfaction and our generation had it full.

Looks like you didn't read the topic...the OP is talking about the 1960s and 70s, not 80s and 90s.

The 60's were the golden era for Nigeria, but guess what, its was a regional setup that worked, and not all these dilapidated 36 states meant to divide and rule folks for exploitation purposes.

No wonder people advocate for Oduduwa, Arewa, and Biafra nations

Back then there was

Honesty
Orderliness
Sincerity
Accountability in government

Just look at how traffic was well coordinated and people organise.
Heavy Bridges and railway built when crude oil wasn't National resources back then
University looking more beautiful than those of the year 2000 generations
Potable waters on streets and some homes
High quality education
Rail system properly working and in use



Is Nigeria retrogressing instead of progressing?

Beautiful days when the regions worked and the people were contented.

I'll agree with you only if we are talking about the mid 1980s to the mad 1990s especially. From all accounts, the 1960s and 1970s were halcyon years.
