I got a few pictures from the 60’s and 70’s that’s got me wishing I was born then. Compared to what we have now, should I say I prefer the olden days? No doubt the ‘now’ has it’s pro’s but the average Nigerian is yet to experience that. As a people, we still remain hopeful.

What is so special about those pictures? Look, in those days, people were suffering, even more than today. You were lucky to have two pieces of meat in your food back then, unlike today when even beggars order "assorted" with their food. Back then we never used that term. It was mama, put one meat. Or two meat.Telecoms was virtually zero. You could be living in Ketu, and you would travel to the island for an appointment, through 4 hrs of 'go slow', only to reach there and be told "oga don't travel. Come back next week". Today, before making such a trip, you will quickly call them on your phone to make sure oga is in the office. In fact, you children don't know what you have now, honestly. Keep posting stup.id pictures from 1972.

Godliness and orderliness reigned in those days unlike what we have these days where herdsmen have taken over our major cities.

Stop talking rubbish. Lagos was a hellhole filled with trash on the streets, heaps of refuse, heavy traffic with Molues and danfos, with armed robbers everywhere, including child kidnappers (gbomo gbomo), who used kids for money rituals. Places like Oshodi, Mushin, Shomolu etc, where virtual no-go areas for most decent people. Totally rowdy, filthy and disorganized. Today those places look very different. Today you have BRT. You have this, you have that. Please stop romanticising the past. You probably couldn't live in it.

I don't blame you. It's your young age that's worrying you. Shebi you have phone to type on and insult people. Back in those days, no such thing. Only those in your backyard were available for you to insult.

Is like you are a sadist. The age where we had social order and we knew who we are (may be who we were) unlike today.

The truth is that I will comfortably take care of you and your family within 2 hours of wide chase expedition in a nearby forest in those days.

Happiness is a standard for measuring satisfaction and our generation had it full.

Looks like you didn't read the topic...the OP is talking about the 1960s and 70s, not 80s and 90s.

The 60's were the golden era for Nigeria, but guess what, its was a regional setup that worked, and not all these dilapidated 36 states meant to divide and rule folks for exploitation purposes.

No wonder people advocate for Oduduwa, Arewa, and Biafra nations

Back then there was

Honesty
Orderliness
Sincerity
Accountability in government

Just look at how traffic was well coordinated and people organise.
Heavy Bridges and railway built when crude oil wasn't National resources back then
University looking more beautiful than those of the year 2000 generations
Potable waters on streets and some homes
High quality education
Rail system properly working and in use

Is Nigeria retrogressing instead of progressing?

You're always angry, and full of bile and negative energy, why? All that negative energy feeds cancer, according to Rick Ross, so better take it easy.

I'll agree with you only if we are talking about the mid 1980s to the mad 1990s especially. From all accounts, the 1960s and 1970s were halcyon years.

Little minds resort to abuse and words that show how poorly trained they are when they respond to other people's opinions with words like "rubbish" etc...Grow up and respond to comments with some measures of civility.
