It was known that the teenage mother who is from Isu-Mbaneze village in Ohaozara LGA of Ebonyi State, had sold the baby named Chisom Raphael, because she could no longer take care for her after the man responsible for her pregnancy abandoned her and her parents allegedly washed their hands off her.

While confessing to selling her baby, Okike said she had no means of taking care of the baby and informed her friend who connected her to the buyer.

The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Ebere Amaraizu, confirmed the arrest of the suspects, noting that the girl had the baby out of wedlock and decided to keep it but when she could no longer take care of it, she decided to sell it off.

The suspect said that
“When things were no longer working smoothly for her while at home, her bosom friend, identified as one Promise Godwin, 20, also from Isu Mbaneze Ohazara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State approached her and told her to come to Enugu with the child with a promise that somebody was going to take care of Ezinne and little Chisom Raphael,” Amaraizu said, adding that the suspects would soon be charged to court for child trafficking.”

Is it against the law to give away ur own child to those capable to raise children but it's OK to abandoned children on the streets like an astray dogs?

That isnt ok too. Firstly you shouldnt be pregnant when you cant take care of the baby. Moreso if everybody start selling their unwanted babies, how would it be??

She already stated she was been abandoned by the man who impregnated her and even her parents never give AF on her...
This is survival. She wanted a Better future to her child than they gonna die together

There are motherless homes. How would you sell a child. Its very wrong. Who says if she strives to survive she wont raise the kid better. So far she sold the child, she was being very greedy.
