A friend was asked the following question in an interview today:

Can you lie to regulatory authorities in loyalty to our organization if hired?

How would you answer this question if you were in his shoes?

the answer to this question should always be NO

My thoughts too though coz it could be a trick.

He said he didn't answer directly but gave reasons why disobeying authorities would result into grievous consequences to the company bisbibusiness.He also said, if necessary,he would bring such notice to the hearing of his superior.

He said he wanted to play safe.

Never give a straight answer. You could say "I will never do anything that will jeopardize the image of this organisation"

First of all I won't lie but I believe the organization is a reputable one and the organization will not have done some wrong to lie for

What of if after you have made such a beautiful speech, the interviewers tell you "simple yes or no" what is then the best answer?

No

Truth telling is virtue that should be upheld. Hence, I wouldn't go against it even at gunpoint.
If needed affirmative answer of YES or NO
U simply answer NO
