Father Of Lagos ‘one Day Governor’ In Dire Health Challenge. by PrinceLucas(op): 11:46am On Aug 02, 2016
Father of Lagos ‘One day Governor’ in dire health challenge.
Mr. Abimbola Olaseinde, 52 year old father of Olufemi Olaseinde, winner of the 2016 Spelling Bee Competition and also decorated Lagos State Governor for 20 hours, is in urgent need of financial assistance to procure medical attention.
He suffers from asthma and high blood pressure together with other complications. His legs are swollen as his stomach is painfully distended. He has difficulty breathing and is ravaged by an insistent cracking cough which leaves him always out of breath. He is in constant excruciating pain from the stomach and his chest area. All available temporary medication to alleviate his pain has not yielded fruit. Commencement of requisite treatment is impossible as he cannot even afford to run the expensive tests recommended.
The once vibrant teacher, who was in the Cheshire School of Management and Marketing, England for a Masters Degree in 1996 had to abandon the programme on account of the cold England weather and the resultant constant attacks, and return to the warmer temperature of Nigeria to save his life. According to him, his ailment had impoverished him making it impossible for him to afford even a decent accommodation for himself and the members of his family.
Although 16 year old Olufemi Oladeinde was awarded a cash gift of N250, 000.00 by the Lagos State Government in addition to a State scholarship to any university of his choice, there is a blanket of melancholy at the Oladeindes.
This is one of the innumerable cases where the families of bright and promising students among us are ravaged by suffering.
Can we lend a helping hand, save a life?
