– A source in the APC alleges that a cabal within the party has hijacked the nomination and appointment of aides in the presidency

A source within the All Progressives Congress (APC) has told NAIJ.com of an alleged sex scandal rocking the presidency over the appointment of aides.


According to the source who spoke under the condition of anonymity due to security reasons, a cabal within the party has hijacked the nomination and appointment of aides in the presidency for personal gains.

The source alleged that the cabal did not follow the list of political appointments drawn by President Muhammadu Buhari.

NAIJ.com was told by the source that the list of nominees for political posts coming from the APC campaign office and the Buhari Support Organization (BSO) was balanced until the cabal changed the list and forwarded same to the presidency for approval.

The names on the tampered list by the cabal was eventually approved to the surprise of those who knew their names were on the original list, the source said.

Another source from the APC campaign office whose name was removed from the approved list said the president is not aware that the original list was tampered with, adding that even the special assistants to the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was not appointed by him but by the same cabal.

The source claimed that majority of those whose names appeared on the cabal’s list and were subsequently approved have not met with the president since they resumed office, adding that the cabal have been collecting cuts from the salaries of the special assistants.


The source said: “Some of these special assistants have not met with Buhari since they resumed. What most of these special assistants do is share their salary (50 percent) with the people that put them in that office. They are the reason why appointments have been majorly tilted to favour Muslims and not Christians. For example there are only three or two aides that are Christians in the Vice-President’s office.”

Another source in the Buhari support organisation alleged that the cabal has been maltreating people who would not do their bidding.

“People like Lauretta Onochie was denied her original position of special adviser to the president because she is a Christian and would not sleep with them. Even Hon Ada Kate Uchegbu who campaigned for Mr. President by making that youtube video of Fani Kayode, was also denied and practically abandoned.”

“In Buhari Support Organization (BSO) names like Dr. Ibrahim, Dr. Nazr was removed because they know they won’t share their salary with them. Most of the top members of BSO were removed from the president’s list.

“Lauretta Onochie who was in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential media campaign but was denied appointment as special adviser instead they gave her ordinary personal assistant to the president but she rejected the letter,” the source disclosed.

NAIJ.com was also told that that Dr. Ibrahim who headed the Buhari support organisation was also denied political appointment because of flimsy excuses tendered by the cabal.

Meanwhile, there is an ongoing battle between the attorney general of the federation and minister of justice, Abubakar Malami, and the minister of environment, Amina Mohammed over the control of the ecological fund.

Mohammed has opposed a bill proposed by Malami putting the management of the fund under the office of the secretary to the government of the federation.

The minister of environment is demanding that the management of the fund be placed under her ministry.
