That's true to an extent, however, environmental conditioning, training infrastructure,financial support etc helps nuture or erode talent.
Unfortunately, the Nigerian factor tends to erode talent.Says why we've only had 3 gold medals in 54 years of participating in the Olympics and a total of 23 medals or so. This can be changed though.

Her and Katie Ledecky are the female beasts of the American swimming team.
4 years ago, 15 year old Ledecky won like 2 golds!
