Former militant leader, Chief Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, on Monday denied sponsoring the Niger Delta Avengers, the militant group that has claimed responsibility for a series of attacks on oil and gas facilities in the Niger Delta.

A statement issued by Tompolo’s spokesman, Paul Bebenimibo, who is also allegedly named as one of the sponsors of the group, described the report as ‘voodoo.’

A splitter group of the NDA, Reformed Niger Delta Avengers, had named former President Goodluck Jonathan, Tompolo, Bebenimibo and other prominent individuals as sponsoring the Avengers that had caused havoc on the country’s oil production.

Bebenimibo, who is also the Secretary, Tompolo Foundation, raised the alarm that his life was in danger, saying that he has nothing to do with the militant group.

The statement explained that Tompolo has consistently denied his involvement with the militant group.

It read, “In the same report, my boss, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo was also mentioned as one of the sponsors of the NDA.

“My initial decision was to ignore the said report as a result of the source and the bogus nature of the story; however, in order to set the records straight, I decided to write to dissociate my boss and myself from that wicked and malicious report.”

The statement added, “I wish to advise the Nigerian government to look for better ways to resolve the Niger Delta problem, and not to continue to compound the issue by relaying on voodoo means to resolve the issue, like which could be likened to a voodoo report.

“If a people, that is the Reformed Niger Delta Avengers have claimed to part ways with the NDA, after destroying almost all the oil facilities in the Niger Delta region, and turn around to claim that they have repented and mentioned some people as sponsors and operatives of the NDA, then the government and people of this country need to know such people (RNDA) and treat them accordingly, and not the responsible Nigerians they mentioned as sponsors and operatives.

So many Nigerians may not know this; 70% of the people eating amnesty money are not even militants but people being pushed into the Amnesty Program due to Nepotism, some are from as far as Akwa ibom, Edo, Enugu, Lagos, Imo, even Ebonyi. That was how Omo Agege gave Boiz guns during election one certain time and after election he abandoned them and ate money meant for them. Those set of Boiz started using the guns to rob the people of Warri. The same goes for Boko Haram or the Yoruba militants terrorizing the West now, sponsorship gone wrong. I see the inevitable coming and we need to pray to God to give Nigeria Armed Forces courage and strength to rescue us from the coming days. US have warned all her citizens recently to stay clear off Nigeria because they know what's coming soon. Politicians have ruined this nation with greed for power and looting

Condemn who? That one? He is already a condemned man. He started Militancy in Niger Delta and after enriching himself and family to an extend the major militants who are real fighter got cut off the amnesty program. Now those set have gone rogue he is calling for truce.
