Bro, Airtel night plan is very very unreliable and unpredictable. They play with the connection speed anyhow.

They will throttle it for several minutes and then release it again. On and off. I have done it several times and it always misbehave especially that of 1.5GB.

Despite the fact that their network is very good at my area i hardly exhaust the 1.5GB due to their erratic behavior.

trust me when I tell you that its your modem or phone.I was using hotspot with my small galaxy pocket and since this plan was introduced I always got 500kb Max little did I know that my phone was capping the speed my friend gets 2.7mb but me personally I get 1.7mb in my room so it's ok

It's not my phone because I'm not the only one experiencing this same issue. I have heard of several cases similar to mine.
Other networks don't behave like them.

I think they(Airtel) are doing it deliberately to ease congestion.

I really don't doubt u, bcoz I've personally had a bad experience with airtel, but I assure u, my own 1.5GB is usually smooth n fast too. I even subscribe 3GB (N100) and I always enjoy it.

I'm going to try this for my downoads and see how it goes.

*312# select 1 to migrate to airtel smart Trybe then *312# again select 3 for Trybe night plan. Select 1 for 500mb at #25 or 2 for 1.5gb at #50.

I don't understand this Airtel guys o, I subscribed for the night plan of 500mb for 25naira while I already had a data plan of 750mb for 2weeks @500naira. When it was 12:05am I started downloading only for me to check my balance and notice it was my weekly sub that they were charging

guy na neutral sim i dey use, the sim is only for my modem n mind u i av my main airtel line inside my phone so beat that.

I have a sim card dedicated to airtel smart Trybe so I don't really know about that. But you can try subscribing after 12am. The plan is between 12 & 5am.

I noticed that I can't download files more than 10mb with that plan using ucweb and Opera. The same things occurs in playstore when updating my apps, it stops halfway. I thought it was network but it isn't. Any solution?

don't just conclude airtel knows the scam dey are doing for me the problem i have with the night plan of airtel is that

1) when i subscribe it only work for a minute or it doesn't work at all until i subscribe the second time so for 500MB i will have to subscribe 25 naira twice before it start working,

2) when i use my modem it does not work with the night plan subscription except i will have to put it in a phone and connect my PC through hotspot.

those are the two challenges i do have with the night plan outside of that the speed is awesome as i do stream with it at night without buffering

so what i think is that some of us subscriber have issue with the night plan and when i call customer care they always tell me their system is down

I have never experienced that. You can try uc mini.
