Governor Adams Aliyu Oshiomole of Edo State has said state governors refusing to pay the national minimum wage are committing criminal offence.

He was speaking Wednesday in Abuja at The Podium, a public discourse organised by the Kukah Centre themed: “From Activism to Political Power: The Challenges of Democratic Governance in Nigeria”.

This is as a former Governor of Cross Rivers, Donald Duke, lamented that Nigerian politicians today have largely become jobber and budget padders.

Oshiomole said that it is wrong for the governors who enjoy a fixed national emolument same way it was fixed for National Assembly lawmakers to now turn around that the national minimum wage should not be applicable to the states of the federation.

Gov Oshio shld pls go and pay the pensioners in his state before talking trash like he is innocent... Pensioners and LG workers are in anguish.. Thank God he declared himself "The Chief" Criminal...

The problem with this present dispensation is that they are only good at advising others while they continue bin the same 'sin' they accused others of.

Of all the govs, Oshiomhole is the greatest disappointment. A labour leader who fought OBJ to succumb to labour demands, today is owing salaries.

The beautiful ones, truly are not yet born.
