Just deception. The hydrocarbon generation potential of Bornu Basin (Nigerian sector of the Chad Basin) is low for two basic reasons. 1. The Source rocks are not thermally mature. 2. The kerogen type in the Basin as analysed from several wells are Type III and Type IV which will only generate gaseous hydrocarbon. This guy just dey waste Nigeria money to satisfy the ambition of those who sent him. Crude oil price is low. The oil being produced in the Niger Delta region and Dahomey Basin (Aje fields) aren't sufficient to satisfy the masses shey! Do nine things for Nigerians 1. Stabilize pump price 2. End the importation of crude oil products 3. Make our refineries work 4. Diversify the pillars of our economy (Agriculture, Solid minerals, Technology, Textiles, exports) 5. Restructure and reinvent electricity generation and distribution (particularly the national grid syndrome) 6. Ban and end government sponsorship of religious tourism 7. Give every Nigerian a reorientation and let's us know our National Vision (not the political higihaga kind of 7-point agenda, Transformation agenda, vision 2020) for us to work towards it as a people. 8. Decentralize leadership to every individual and let every Nigerian know we are leaders inour own right. 9. Create enabling mental, social, political, secure environment for the average Nigerian to be a successful entrepreneur Solomon Adeyinka Geoscientist and Researcher. |

Izonpikin:Lol!! Bro, please check the map of Nigeria again. By the time you pipe from Chad basin to Lagos, the pipeline vandals would have destroyed the entire pipes and siphoned all the oil. What will get to the S/West would not be sufficient for export. Plus it is not economical to pipe it that far |

sarrki:a notion does not and will never become great just by pupation growth rather through technological progress, balance in sectoral development, political stability, economic deiversifiaction, sound economic policy and equitable and sound implimentation, political will and govt of the people and not against the people. But in the case of Nigeria, reverse is the case hence, disintegration is the answer. All things been equal, I bet you, Nigeria is a great country but can't rise beyound reasonable level of development and would regress among it pairs in Africa. |

Did u not see where i mentioned federal level in my post? Gosh my state gov lga chairman senators etc handle the 13 percent which I'd admit was wasted as the thread claimed . Now lets deal with the 87 percent controlled by federal gov. Which of my people was among the federal gov handling the 87 percent that i want u to account for or is it just to throw 13% the only thing federal govt can do that's that's like compensation how has the fg so well manage the 87 in carrying out project in nd as i speak bayelsa has no federal secretariat is that nddc' job to do? And the east west road, militancy arose in protest of this glaring deficiencies the nd ministry was created 8 yrs ago to address this neglect of over 50 yrs u guys want an underfunded nd ministry to do what fg could not do for 50 yrs in 8 yrs freshcvvs: |

Pls don't be misguided, this is not drilling for oil, this is HDD(Horizontal Directional Drilling) for pipeline river crossing. the process involves drilling a bore under the river bed from one side to the river bank to the other, after which the welded length of the line pipes is pulled through the drilled hole across the river (below the river bed). This is an effective and better alternative to lying line pipes in the river bed through the water. |

obailala:@Obailal, welcome to @hopilo's incomplete educationhopilo: :And who says there is no seismic prove of oil in the Chad basin?... Just to the north of the same basin (outside Nigeria's boundaries), Chad extracts commercial quantities of oil from the same basin but you really think there really isn't any seismic prove of a drop of oil (commercial or non-commercial quantity) in the Nigerian side? ![]() |

Good, this is more like diversification of oil, I hope they find what they are looking for,so they can feed the nation for atleast the next 5 years |
| Re: Exploration Of Oil Begins In North East Nigeria (Photos) by evido78: 10:45am On Aug 11, 2016 |
Even if they finally hit oil, d big question is will it be in COMMERCIAL quantity ? And at what cost given the low price of crude. This move is more political than economical and that is why this govt will never get it right. Resolve d Niger Delta issue where we can get oil easily at lower cost and stop this Northernization agenda in the oil sector |

I can only see people laying pipes. To drill for oil, show me a rig, an oil drilling rig on site. If you like Ho borrow pix from Internet or elsewhere, America will know. |

sarrki:When you say population, are you referring to this kind of nigerian population? People have taken child birth as occupation in this country, some even goes to the extent of encouraging children to get pregnant just to get the highest population because of politics, those countries you mentioned have somethings in common, something like religion, technology, policies which checks excess child birth. They know the number of their population thereby making policies that covers them all. Please I have some questions for you" 1 does nigeria know its true population, 2 can a country progress without technological know how, 3 which country has ever progressed without favourable policies, 4 can you tell me one country which has progress because of its number of population? Diversity only works when there is understanding and not when it is forced on any group or people. |

Nowadays power does not lie on population but on ideas and technology . Even little germany is what thousands of Nigeria Is wasting their life to enter. If Germans want to have mighty force like any country.. There are Billions of people in this world that are willing to be part of their force. |
