redcap:Did they start today to look for oil in the north? If una wait till north finds crude oil in commercial quantity before Nigeria can disintegrate as needed, there may be a long way to go before south of Nigeria is freed from these northern Nigerians who believe that crude oil is all there's for a country to survive. |

oyinkinola:You can only convince that emonse who believes it is better for the SS to remain in this internal colonization in Nigeria than belong to a new Nigerdelta country or even Biafra slated to be governed through Fiscal Federalism., or even resource control. All ye people from the South West carry propaganda of divide and conquer and rule against the south south and southeast. |

oyinkinola:It's the same Christian value systems that govern from Bini to Urhobo to Ijaw to Igbo to Efik to Ibibio to any other ethnic groups in the SS and SE regions. With resource control and fiscal federalism governing any country or countries for these mostly well-educated ethnic groups with Christianity value systems, NEVER suggest any wars between them. Your talk of South Sudan Should Nigeria divide, the southwest region of today's Nigeria which is deeply divided between Islamic and Christianity can't make a country. Religious wars shall engulf any southwest country. Islamic/Christian wars are already creeping up from Osun state in the south west.. In Osun state today, hugh school students fight silent wars against one another as they go to school with Islamic hijab, masquerades and Christian choir clothes to outdo one another; while you South West engage as in here to spread hate and division in the southsouth and southeast. |

So much for diversification. Buhari's idea of economic diversification is looking for other sources of crude. We that voted for change are full of regrets now....... |

oyinkinola:Now you are getting me wrong, its not about tribe but about Nigeria...I don't take sides with corrupt officials or support any party. This is Nigeria and as a matter of fact the timing is wrong. |

Emyogalanya:Honestly I wish it would be as you say but my fear is this. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. We seem to be united now probably because power is concentrated at the federal level. Will it remain so it it shifts? We have seen people kill their fathers, brothers, uncles, etc because of power. That's why your proposition of "break - up" is one I'd rather not take. Instead, if we find unity in our diversity as Nigerians and show our leaders at all levels that we are not fools, we would be stronger and better off. The problem though is "how many of us are willing?" |

Obiwannn:You may be right about Turkey trying to form alliance with Russia. But would they be doing that with say - Uzbekistan? Also, a dip in the economy of the USAs, Chinas, Germanys etc of this world would surely reflect on the Swiss and other smaller economies. Never vice - versa. It may not hit as bad as it would hit a country like ours though. So in a way, the quality of life on offer in such "small" countries is still dependent on world powers. Me I for like if we fit grow to become world power o. But I doubt if e go ever happen. Never say never sha. |

mapet:You see your sense of geography? So we should be looking for oil in Benue state since their neighbors in Anambra has oil in some quantity. My brother this thing don't work like that. |

hopilo:Bros, 1. Cut the long and unnecessary rants. 2. That Seismic survey, processing and interpretation is used to locate oil (hypothetically), is not a today's thing. 3. Your submission implying that NNPC is doing blind search gives you away as some who knows next to nothing except the concept - "Seismic survey" (which had been in use for more than a century). 4. I think you should avail yourself with what had been done in terms of exploration of the Chad Basin in the past 15-20yrs. Don't join the ignorant NLers...... |

Emyogalanya:You likely read my reply in a hurry. I said the peace we seem to have right now may be because there is no power to struggle for at the moment. Whether it would remain so remains to be seen. Our unity has never really been tested so we can't be so sure. BTW, I'm Isoko. |

mapet:Point #4. For 20years still searching? What a dumb search and waste of money. Let not even talk about 21st century technology, over a decade ago the world had moved past blind search for oil. |
