Ibadan is a very large city whereas Onitsha is small, it sure does have a huge number of slums but it is still not an old looking city as the op is trying to paint it. IMO,Infrastructurally, Ibadan is ahead of Onitsha.
I also doubt both cities were founded in the said Wiki dates, Britannica says Onitsha was founded in the 17th century and recorded history of Ibadan began in 1829. This link claims Ibadan was actually Founded in the 16th century.

Also keep in mind that a good portion of Onitsha was rebuilt after the Civil war.

Dude, Ontisha is so tiny that 85 of it would fit into ibadan with change sef. Wikipedia says Onitsha covers 13.94m square area, while ibadan covers 1,189 m square -- see the difference huh

And no matter how 'old' ibadan may look, NO SINGLE SE City can match her infrastructurally up this very day. Till today, una still never build skyscraper wey fit match Cocoa house in height and elegance. When una begin match ibadan infrastructure, then we can talk.

Upon all your wiki research, can't you see that Ibadan is the largest city in Nigeria by land mass and third in Africa after Cairo and Johannesburg? Pictures are up there for you.
