It is just like basketball I guess. You get a placement based on your final finish. Semi finals A and B are the only ones that can lead to medal. Others are just to get a place. For example, the Togolese lady is in Semifinal E/F, she lost out in the first round.

Medal prospects still alive:
1. Dream team in semi final. One win away from a guaranteed medal.
2. Efe Ajagba +91Kg boxing. Knocked out his opponent. Seeded 7th, but he's fighting the world champion next. If he wins that, he is guaranteed at least a bronze medal.
3. Women 400m. P.O George and Margeret Bamgbose in the semis. I guess that might be the end of the journey for them.
4. Blessing Okagbare in 100m semi. She looks good to make the final of 100m.

I must say that the first 2 Nigerians who lost are the weakest in the team. Aminat Adeniyi and Odun Adekuroye are highly rated. Aminat is 2-0 up against a Finn who is highly rated. Odun fights tomorrow. That is our biggest medal hope.
