If you are hungry kindly go to Ekiti or Ondo where you can substitute your future for just 3 cups of Rice. Honestly Lagos is not meant for your stay. We need right up thinking people who will appreciate projects that will enrich our people and create lively environment for future generation

He is right brother. Agbe Road, Abiodun Onitiri and Relaying Ekoro roads were preconstruction works to ease pressure during period of building the flyover.

Bro for the record I stay in Abule Egba and I can tell this project didn't start until Ambode became the governor.

I could remember vividly that I heard about the development of this bridge first in the news and bo next thing I know the project start. Kudos to Ambo for keeping his promise.

However, I believe that Lagos is far behind in terms of development. A state like Lagos with diverse human resources and financial strenghts of some African countries should be a mega city compared places like Tokyo, New York and other major cities of the world .

It's so sad that some politicians continue to deceive and loot when they should have added value and left a lasting legacy.

Fashola, Ambode and Tinubu aren't honest....Lagos state has earned more than a trillion naira in last 8 years, does that reflect on the current infrastructural status of Lagos?

I guess you know the answer to this question.

Can you try to answer my question? Does the current infrastructural status in Lagos show that the state has earned more than 1 trillion naira in the last 8 years.

Please answer a simple yes and no with all sincerity then we can talk about the honesty of those 3.

Thanks.

You're confused. Go to Lagos-Abeaokuta Expressway, just after Iyana Awori, you will where it is boldly written on the signboard showing the design of the bridge that it is a Lagos State Government project. You will also see the same signboard when going to Abule Egba from Oshodi, Ikeja or Iyana Ipaja, just after Katongowa/Super.
Do not come give anothe lame rejoinder that it is a FG project that Fashola used his position to give to the state. Both the LASG and FG cannot appropriate money for the same job and be executing it when it is not a PPP.

The roads serving as alternate routes where hurriedly created by the LASG.

You don't know what you're saying. What project in particular in Lagos State did Fashola dabble sum of N28.22 billion was appropriated for capital projects for the five States in the region.
A breakdown shows that , Abia State got N6.93 billion (24.55 percent); Anambra State got N3.02 billion (10.20 percent); Ebonyi state got N4.63 billion (16.41 percent); Enugu State got N10.15 billion (35.98 percent) while Imo State got N3.49 billion (12.36 percent).
According to the document, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is the single highest beneficiary of allocations for capital projects with the sum of N209 billion (76.99 percent).
For other states  in the North Central region ; Nasarawa State received  N14.75 billion (5.43 percent); Kwara State- N5.19%); Niger State recieved N12.59 billion (4.63 percent); Plateau State got N6.63 billion (2.44 percent); Benue got N7.46 billion (2.75 percent) while Kogi State got N7.25 billion (2.67 percent).
Also President Buhari’s North-West region got a generous allocation for projects in the 2016 Appropriations Bill with capital allocation worth N73.7 billion for the implementation of 802 projects across the seven States in the zone.
For the implementation of ongoing and new projects in the seven states in the region, Kano State got N32.14 billion (43.61 percent) for 166 projects; Kaduna State got N19.82 billion (26.99 percent) for 292 projects while Katsina State got N9.52 billion (12.92 percent).
Also the  sum of N3.56 billion (4.84 percent) goes to Jigawa State; N3.15 billion (4.28 percent) goes to Kebbi State; N2.53 billion for execution of 61 projects was allocated to Zamfara State while N2.97 billion (4.04 percent) went to Sokoto State.
From the total sum of N48.97 billion for the South West region, Lagos State got the highest share allocation of N16.14 billion (32.95 percent); Oyo State got N12.28 billion (25.08 percent); Ogun State got N7.95 billion (16.23 percent); Osun State got N6.52 billion (13.30 percent); Ondo state got N3.77 billion (7.70 percent) while Ekiti State got N2.32 billion (4.7 pecent) of the capital allocation for this year.
On the part of the North East geopolitical zone of N46.69 billion for the execution of 454 ongoing and new projects, Gombe State got N9.70 billion (21 percent); Taraba state got N9.23 percent); Bauchi State got N9.23 billion (20 percent); Yobe State got N6.99 billion (15 percent); Adamawa state got N5.98 billion (13 percent) while Borno State got N5.98 billion (12 percent).
The six South South states also got N35.31 billion for execution of 474 projects out of which 30 are ongoing projects, 438 are new projects while six are unidentified.
The breakdown indicates that: Cross River state got N10.75 billion (30.46 percent); Delta State got N7.55 billion (21.38 percent); Akwa Ibom State got N1.92 billion (5.45 percent); Bayelsa State got N3.21 billion (9.08 percent); River state got N7.29 billion (20.66 percent) while Edo State got N4.58 billion (12.98 percent) of the total capital allocation.... Lagos alone get 87% of entire south eastern region come together... I see no federal character in this adminstration

Beyond political structure, economic, developmental and welfare reality is the major determining factor a good policy maker should consider before executing a developmental project.

Lagosians will benefit more from the bridge than any other Nigerian, lagos generates more IGR through tax paid by Lagosians than any other state so I don't think it's wrong if the government of lagos embarks on a road that will benefit Lagosians and Lagos state.

You and I both know the FG won't do jack about that bridge.....they haven't done jack in a while.

I totally agree with you, the state can use all the generated income for infrastructural development.

But let's assume for a second that 50% of the generated revenue is used for the purpose of infrastructural development wouldn't that reflect on the infrastructural development of the state. Lo and behold some many sectors in Lagos have not been fully harnessed to generate more income for the state...transportation and housing and two major sectors that can boost the financial strength of the state but we both those scepter are not functioning at optimal level because of government lack of foresight.

Tax is the only major source of IGR in the state, the amount generated should be used to develop other sectors that will contribute to the GDP of Lagos.

Beside generating 1trillion naira and using a large percent for cost of running the state in a bad policy.

And yes we have SOME that have bought assets with their salaries after working for years.

Trust me it's not that hard, all the government need is foresight and financial descipline.
