Don't put the blame of your failure on anybody else but yourself, you could have gone all the up if you have what it takes without the government support, you are a weightlifter. But at the same time shame on the FG for sponsoring pilgrimage and neglecting the Olympians but i still believe that countries like Nigeria that is with so much pressing issues to deal with should be saved the distractions of even the world Cup for now, so they can tidy up the home first. If you had gone all the way to win a medal without support and dedicate it to your country, then you might get some sympathy and love. But what have you done for Nigeria? That's what you should be asking yourself rather thinking of what Nigeria should do for you.
And in your mind, you think you have made sense.
You are talking rubbish.

Excluding GEJ. Nigeria achieved a lot in sports under his motivating and sensitive administration.
Including GEJ unfortunately.(wink wink cool).

Preparations for Olympics always start as soon as the last one has finished.

And Nigeria won zero medals at the 2012 Olympics ...which were held when GEJ was in charge.

Beyond the whole GEJ /PMB issue(this is where I get serious).....Nigeria's sports crisis is caused by bad administrators.....people enter sport admin for the purpose of money. And back in the day....long before GEJ came around....politicians used to run for office re federations. Now...no benefit.

The truth of the matter is.....winning Olympics is not done by mobilizing money about one year to the show....it is about consistent preparations, about having the right kind of coaches, about training the coaches properly , about going for competitions galore, and about wanting it harder than the next guy.

How many competitions did Mariam go for in the last four years....compared to her foreign counterparts.? How many courses did Mariam's coaches go for in the last four years? How wellhas the Nigerian Weightlifting Federation been funded for the last 4 years? Are the NWF leaders creative? What about our Sports Lottery that was supposed to fund our athletes, where is it?.

You may call me a zombie for disagreeing with you....but the fact is....GEJ and many of our past leaders, and this admin are doing nothing for sports in this country. And the leadership of the varied sports federations are doing nothing either. Developing sports goes beyond money.
Re: I Won’t Represent Nigeria Again – Usman by Ayo25: 2:18pm On Aug 19, 2016
Yinmu... Make I hear say you no represent Nigeria again or you no go next Olympic. You knew preparations was poor before you jumped into the plane, don't you? I am expecting you to state multitude of reasons why you are changing your mind later on.

If you want to win something at the Olympics....you start preparing from the time the last Olympics ends.

So,blaming Bubu does nothing.

And even if PDP had funded sports...not just football....sports (this is the same PDP govt that still OWED late Amodu and Keshi by May 29 last year).....you still need to properly train coaches, athletes, have good training programs, well run federations, and so on.

Bahrain and Qatar....are just buying athletes to run and jump for them.

Scratch below the surface.....and those countries are nowhere in sports.

Ten years ago...they(Qatar in particular) tried to do the same thing in football....by buying citizenship for some of the best players in the European leagues who had not turned out for their countries of origin. Thankfully....FIFA tightened that loophole....

But at least....the three countries have something Nigeria does not have....well run federations.
And in your mind, you think you have made sense.
You are talking rubbish.[/quote what does she want the government to do for her? Tell me, to feed her, clothe her and build house for her. The fact still remain that you can't blame anybody for your failure, talkless of blaming the government. Commonwealth is different from Olympics. With what the country is currently going through now like the high rate of crime, people that have been internally displaced and the children who might die of hunger and malnutrition in the north, the least of the FG worries should be one Musa weightlifter in Rio.

Jonathan was more motivating as a president in sports than every other president, even while he is out of office, he is still motivating the dream team. now how many times did buhari or any other ex head of state motivate any a Nigerian sports team when they were out of office?

http://www.cityvoiceng.com/jonathan-to-mikel-led-eagles-you-gave-your-best-now-beat-honduras/

And you can't compare Jonathan's achievements in sports to any other past head of state.

Look at this joker shocked

Even war torn countries and countries going through worse still got support from their government, so what are you saying?
The Ministry of Sports budget is for what?

In fact, if we knew we could not have supported them, we should have fielded NO athlete for this competition.
Then no one should have represented the country.

Any country that neglects sports is not a serious country, anyway why am I surprised, it's Nigeria, a verry unserious country

I feel ur pain,, it a pity dat wat change has caused,, we can only hope we change dis change b4 it changes every thing bad to worse, one more thing if u decide not to compete for nija not ur fault dey pushed u to it jare!!
Re: I Won’t Represent Nigeria Again – Usman by Ayo25: 2:43pm On Aug 19, 2016
You just gotta laugh at some ridiculous reasoning trying to exonerate GEJ at our present predicament as a country. A recent Vanguard report showed that out of the N95.1Trillion the country have earned since independence from oil exploration, N51 Trillion was earned doing GEJ's era only. I thought they said to whom much is giving much is expected. Do we really think GEJ took us to the promise land with the resources he had at his disposal? Can we say with certainty that our lives would be a lot better than it is now if GEJ had remain in office. Any kind of comparison between Buhari and GEJ's era is an extreme show of foolishness. Every leader we have had since independence should be assessed independently based on what they did for the country. If you do that you will find out we have had terrible leaders
throughout. We should stop playing politics with the problems of this country if we want the problems solved. Unless you are playing politics you wont be saying GEJ time was better than Buhari. They are both terrible leaders from the perspective of a serious-minded Nigerian, not the APC or PDP inclined Nigerian.

No worry.

I have reliable information that budget padding will be added to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics schedule.

Guaranteed gold, silver and bronze for us.

When she and her team won eight gold, three silver and three bronze in the Commonwealth games in 2013, I remember her dedicating that victory to GEJ. They obviously got more support under the last dispensation.
