Okay, ...... after the law prevents your land from being grabbed , and you proceed to apply your hard earned kobo to develop or build on your land.....Where does the inhumane and continued extortion of hapless citizens at different building stages fall into?

This journalist needs to be retrained so that he or she can write out story captions professionally. The caption would have been Lagos state government criminalizes land grabbing (omonile). Having said that, unless the government is ready to prosecute who is who in our society, this effort will amount to a wasted journey because the so-called omoniles are foot-soldiers of the Obas, politicians and the police.

I believe there's a tenancy law that bans advance rent of more than one year in Lagos. I don't see the implementation anywhere. This is probably headed the same route.

Well, I reside in Lagos and it worked for me. After that law came into being I have so far relocated twice and did not pay more 12 months in advance. In fact it has started working by default is some Ogun state communities sharing borders with Lagos State. I believe this Omonile one will also be successful. Ambode's campaign and debates were not really captivating but his performances so far are more than captivating. In fact they are simply bewitching. I now believe his campaign time claim that he is not a man of many words but an action man.
