No Salary: Nlc Plans Strike For 23rd August by saaedlee(op): 11:36am On Aug 23, 2016
Nigerian Labour Congress the umbrella body of all Labour Unions of workers in Nigeria has issued a statement directing all state leaders to converge for a National Industrial Action (Strike) The NLC President Ayuba Wabba who issued the statement and convened the protest also said it is to protest a killing of their members in Nasarawa State.
The stage is already set for the protest in Kaduna, Kwara, Nasarawa and Lagos States among others.

More than 20 states have been unable to pay monthly salaries for workers and others such as Bayelsa has resulted to paying half salaries.

However, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued a statement requesting the NLC to stop the strike on the grounds that it will interfere into the ongoing investigations of workers killed in the state.

In a compliance advisory signed by the Executive Secretary of the commission, Professor Bem Angwe, all parties to the complaint before the NHRC were strongly advised to maintain peace and order, pending the final determination of the investigation of the complaint.

The commission also advised the Nasarawa State government to suspend the implementation of the reduction in the workers’ salaries, pending the completion of the investigation of the complaints.

The Human rights Commission directed all security and PEACE keeping agencies to make sure that they stick to the full adherence to the advisors of the compliance committee in order to carry out and complete the investigation. They said this was necessary as the NLC was about carrying out a full scale industrial action.

Dear Babangida,
By the time you are reading this, i must have been escorted to jail by dasuki. And you are probably sitting comfortably in my chair as head of state thinking it is over, but i assure you that my mission of bringing nigeria to its knees will be accomplished even if it takes me 60years and when that happens, Dasuki will regret following your orders.
God punish you- Bubu

When the noble workforce are treated like thieves, it's a sign that all is truly not well!
Working and not being paid will definitely bring more corruption to the system.
Not a good time for Nigerians... Perhaps we will correct this mess in 2019
We've seen the change they promised and it's obvious that we need to do something different.

Some governors need to be killed by firing squad. Calling them useless is an understament.

Is the industrial action against the FG, State governments or is it against NDA or oil price or what exactly?

Meanwhile how can there be a planned strike for 23rd of August when the 23rd of August is already almost over? undecided

See stomach. Strike for your own compensation just like the NDA. Remember that it has not been easy but are the governors sick? They claim no money yet they are yet to get thinner instead they travel from continent to continent. Aren't they eating? Strike isn't the solution. Move on to stop every move of the governors. Stop meetings. Shut down governors offices. Lock down house of assembly. Better solution compared to strike.
