CGPA Of OAU Best Graduating Engineering Students From 1987 by INTERMAN(op): 9:22am On Aug 27, 2016

Some people said the standard of education is falling as our students are no longer studying as like of old. I said it is a big lie. Infact I observed from some collection of past questions that the questions set in OAU in a particular course tend to be tougher nowadays than in the past. Those questions were relatively cheaper than the current ones set by the lecturers as test in current time. But yet, some students still got A's and very high CGPA. For instance take a look at this CGPA in pic below, it increases progressively and only few decline. Check it out, OAU faculty of technology which is the home of engineering students. Seun Osewa was also in the system.

What happened during the 2004/2005, 2000/2001 and 1994/1995 session?

By the way, when people complain the standard of education is falling they ain't talking about CGPA or the quality of exam questions, the worry is about how the products of the education can't seem to compare with their older counterparts.

But wait, how come my old man name no dey the list? So all the boasting he has always been making about him being the best graduating student in this set at OAU was nothing but a fat lie. Chai

So my CGPA is probably even better than my lecturer's.

But seriously, getting information then wasn't easy unlike now when you can easily Google search, they had to spend a better part of their time in libraries.
Their input into learning compared to now is higher, for a person that got 4.55 then will definitely be getting close to 4.95 or higher now .

My brother, the standard of education has fallen. Some of those old time graduates gained admission with JAMB score of over 240 marks unlike today where we have cut off mark of 180.

The country's standard of education has really gone south with the development of and access to ICT in Nigeria.

How many students really engage in rigorous and thorough research, assignments and projects these days now that everything can be dubbed from the internet?

Isn't it shameful that no Nigerian university made the top 1000 in the world, SA had 4 or 5.

IMO, those who graduated in the 80s and early 90s are the last set of people who went through standard educational process.
