I will try grin

Inko ti agbalaga man ree lati ijoko omode ole ree (while standing* but I don't know how to write it).

Basically what I was trying to say was- what an elderly person sees while sitting, a child cannot see it while standing.

I know I just murdered the Yoruba language.

Correction is allowed grin

What does the bolded mean?
I wanted to add that anyone can correct me so correction is allowed grin
Lol I will be honest the one I heard was - what elderly sees while sitting, a child won't see it even when standing on an Iroko tree but because this is a lot more complicated so I shortened it.

ti mo ba na ro, it means, i was sitting initially so that process of standing up is called "na ro"{read as nor row}

Iroko tree is igi iroko, iroko is already yoruba, all you need to is translate the word tree.

try to translate this(my late grandma used to say this);

ile ni oota n joko de idi.

i knew you'll translate oota as enemy, well see this;

ile = house

oota = stool(that the buttocks sits on)

joko = sit

idi = buttocks

let me give you the interpretation then you'll try translating again, what the proverb is saying is, for instance no matter how long you live, inevitably there is a grave destined for you, so one day you must enter that grave, basically the grave has always been waiting for you.

so try again....
