President Muhammadu Buhari has called on militants unleashing violence on the Niger Delta to enter into dialogue with his government or risk being dealt with the same way the nation’s military dealt with members of the Boko Haram sect.

He said this would be done because he was aware of his government’s responsibility to secure the country for economic activities to thrive.

According to a statement on Sunday by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, the President spoke on Saturday evening at a bilateral meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, on the sidelines of the sixth Tokyo International Conference on African Development in Nairobi, Kenya.

He told the Japanese leader that with the defeat of the Boko Haram terrorists by the military, the attention of the administration is now focused on stopping the destruction of the country’s economic assets by militants in the Niger Delta region.

Niger Deltans are law abiding citizens. They respect law of the land and sovereignty of Nigeria constitution. For this, they will not be harrassed or humiliated.

However, the Nigeria military will meter against any criminals disguising as a freedom fighter in the creek and bent on destroying governement properties treatment Boko Haram had. They are economy terrorist and will be treated as terrorist they are. They have done enough destroying oil installations and Killing our soldiers. It is time now the Crocodile keeps smiling on daily basis. Tens are killed on daily basis as the Crocodile smiles.

Boko Haram had tanks, APC and loads of ammunitions. They even had the capacity to ransack Military barrack, attack military formation and ability to capture lot of territories. They brought down fighter jet and took their attack to DSS headquater in Abuja. Despites all these, they were decimated and made ti beg for amnesty.

Militants do not have such capacity. The military are with them for few days and they are already crying blue murder. We've got nothing to fear from lapdogs. The Military will handle them

My brother if the country is wrecked you won't be free from it... the supporters said or he said? PMB has always call for negotiation and NDA said NO I could remember even at a time PHB called on NA to seize fire for two weeks but NDA ignored it complete and mocked NA,,, and some time give conditions before negotiation which is not how it should be to the best of my knowledge. Peace is what makes a nation great... my advice for the federal govt/PMB handle the fulani/cattle herdsmen who go about killing their hosts to be treated with same treatment!
