Godemcee:You are fun of celebrating calamity were there is none. the Igbos can survive even without oil, talkless of when they also have the oil. if Nigeria should go back to regional system of government, that's when you will know the commercial quantity of crude oil in the South East. but time shall tell. |

Truth is that the 97% and 5% theory of PMB is the major trigger of these recent violent agitations in the SE/SS. Not only did he say it, he's gone right ahead to display same in most of his actions. He needs to retract that statement, apologise to the so called 5% and make conscious efforts to run an inclusive government. I doubt his autocratic self will do this so the bombings are likely to continue. Not that I'm in support of it anyways but it's the frank truth. I'm just trying to be real here... |

abokibuhari:And so what? The oil belongs to the people of the Federal republic of Nigeria and not exclusively to the Niger delta. Besides how many oil well you get? |

I opened a thread with these people's video and it was deleted. They threatened terror and have committed terror. They are cultists belonging to Icelanders and Greenlanders in Rivers State which made a head way into Imo State because we share boundary and speak similar language. Goverment needs to be hard on them or Imo will turn to Rivers State. Already Awarra and surrounding Ohaji communities are half deserted while these cultists are trying to establish cells in Oguta. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=brk2ga3Puwg |

Presently, Nigeria has a strong center and weak states. The states have become administrative units of the federal government. The federal government pays the piper and is happily dictating the tune to the states. The states are so weak and so generally impoverished that they have no capacity even to negotiate meaningfully with the center. None of the states as it is now can generate enough internal revenue to prosecute any appreciable social and economic development. Instead of pillars, the states have become a burden on the federation. In Nigeria, except for the rather vague statement in Section 2 of the 1999 Constitution, there are no definite enumerated powers of the federal government the Nigerian Constitution. In the United States, the powers of the federal government are enumerated and limited. I rest my case texazzpete: |

This is thesame General Don Wannie that Wike deceived Onelga that he has given amnesty to. You faked amnesty but did'nt collect their guns. This guy heads cult groups in Rivers state (Onelga) and is alledged to be in the payroll of the Rivers state government. Now the Rivers state government has given him wings and he is using it well encroaching into Imo state side of Egbema. I have always maintained that the government (especially at state and local government levels) should be held responsible for cultism, militancy and other related matters in most cases. For this Don Wannie guy, Governor Wike and State PDP chairman who owns Krisdera hotels at Omoku should be held responsible. |

Obviously, Ohaji/Egbema people not only feel cheated by FG, they feel cheated by Imo state too, as they feel that part of the oil money Imo state gets from the FG courtesy of Ohaji/ Egbema crude oil are spent building up Owerri while Egbema/Ohaji area lie in neglect. Obviously the restructuring needed is not just at the FG level, but down to village level. The land and it's resources should be returned to the native owners, while the various levels of government collects tax only. That way, an Ohaji/ Egbema man will not feel cheated not just by Nigeria, but also by the rest of imo state people. |
