The Lagos state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fatai Owoseni on Thursday accused accused religious leaders of promoting sexual offences in the country.

He lamented the alarming increase in the rate of sexual crimes and domestic violence in the nation.

Recent reports and investigations showed that “the so-called men of God” were hiding under religion to commit such heinous crimes, he said.

He added that the police is working closely with the Office of the Attorney- General to address the issue.

That some men of God are committing fornication is not reason enough for anyone to attribute the increase in sexual offences to them.
The main cause of the increase in sexual related offences is "decay in moral values" as well as failure of law enforcement agencies to live up to their expectations.
There reports of cases where police officers as said to have involved in criminal activities. Will it be fair to the entire NPF for anyone to lay claim that the police force is the root cause of the increase in criminal activities?

But our men of God own don dey too much na. Shouldnt they be our role models? Imagine one pastor camp 30 young girls for house just dey flex dem. The other day, dem say paster give two sisters belle. Why are you so pained na. Where were you when your so called men of God were cought raping girls as young as 13 years old. Guy, if you or anyone you know is guilty, you better desist before the long arm of the law will catch you.

Am waiting for the police statement saying

Muslims are responsible for the increase in the killing of innocent women[. ...

Or is it lawful to kill women in some parts of Nigeria?.

When is the police going to tell us on which religious group is responsible for increase in

0. Slaughtering people who disagree about the stupidity and evil predominant in their religion
1. Herdsmen killings
2. Bombing of markets and religious buildings
3. Underage girls kidnapping & raping
4. intolerance and general quarrelsome attitudes towards other religious groups
5. Child marriage
6. Denial of child rights to education
7. Global enforcement of unlawful legal systems on other religious groups



Oh wait.... they usually never make arrests and when they do, some "big man" bails the criminals out asap. Also unlike "men of god", their religious group always seem to support their crimes and help to shield them from the law

I mustn't be a perpetrator before I speak out against unjust generalization. Now, what do u have to say about the NPF and crime as contained in my post?
