Brains are not well commended in Nigeria but if it were a beauty contest,Miss Unilag with a CGPA that cannot flash MTN to MTN line would have gone home with a brand new car.

This is why they are saying the standard of education is falling, Do u expect our young ones to put in their best in academics when they know how much Olamide,lil kesh etc are making.

This is the same mentality most engineers carry and then we complain that nobody notices us. You have to be able to sell your idea or opinion to the board, influence your colleagues and make them buy your idea over another's.

See, I wish someone told me this before I entered secondary school. I would have joined all the debate clubs in my school.

Nonetheless, here is my message to you and every other person holding this notion. You can not grow in the corporate ladder unless you can sell your ideas, and sometimes you may need to argue it out on a board room, make presentations, be thrown darts at, convince people to do stuff and probably make tough decisions.

See, if you decide to shun the debates, you will only end up in the lab while somebody else takes the glory for your work. You will only shout engineers are being marginalized like the others who failed to compete or develop their skills.

Don't do this to yourself.

enough of all these dancers and singers get millions. these guys were rewarded for their brains. but talent hunt shows is strictly business, like an avenue to generate income for the brand. in which its not bad paying the contestants from the income generated. in England a Rooney or ibrahimovic earns much more than a medical doctor or engineer. will u say education is also dying there. they generate income for the football team and gets their share from the income generated.

In Nigeria, why is a footballer in our national league not earning more than a medical doctor or engineer here, according to your logic?
Are they not generating income for the football team brand to which they should be entitled to their fair share?
Perhaps this is not happening due to our foolish support for the English Premiership teams that drains money from our own teams?

perhaps our footballers are not generating enough money for the team so as to earn more than a doctor. I used English premiership as an example. their colleagues in other European countries are not earning as much as the EPL guys. they made their league attractive plus their packaging. checkout our music industry in Nigeria, attractive compared to that of other African countries. so our artists earn more.
