With United's solidity in midfield and defence,Mata has an important attacking role to play with less demands on him to track back too often.

Mata thrives in pockets of spaces in and around the box where he can pick out the perfect killer pass, he doesnt have the abilities to track back, assist the full backs and make tackles on the wings as Jose would want. Same thing Jose always criticised Hazard for (not tracking back).

Physically, Mata and Mahrez are alike. Like I always say, i'd love to have Mata in the 10 position in my team.
