This is the same question I've been willing to ask here. Can someone come up with a reasonable explanation? The screen consumption is understandable, But I assume phone idle is the time my phone spent doing nothing, and if my assumption is correct, then the battery stats we see in our android phones is an arrant misrepresentation of data. I'm saying this because I've never noticed my battery drop even 1% when my phone is idle(doing nothing). Even the app I use most of the time(UC mini), consumes just 1% battery according to the stats below.

What phone is that? It is a plaque affecting lots of Android phones, something that barely happen on iOS devices. My galaxy s6 also had this same standby draining problem, battery life was so poor I had to sell the damn phone. 2 Likes |

Cos a lot goes on on your screen..No screen, no phone. Plus you should expect this when you use mediatek phones... It's optimized on the snapdragon phones tbh.. 1 Like |

Your screen's backlight is the main culprit. Not really the display itself. Having your screen brightness turned all the way down will save a lot of juice. Also, if you have 'haptic feedback' turned on, disable it. It's not essential and drains your battery. Haptic feedback is any vibration, sound etc the screen makes when you tap or type on it. Idle processes are usually things running in the background. Like app auto-updates etc. It also includes apps just being open in the background. They sit there, periodically checking for updates etc. Open your task manager and 'close all' apps to take care of that. 8 Likes 1 Share |

When you chatting and you constantly typing, swiping on your screen it consumes battery, the second is when you are not surfing the Internet switch offf your data, cos ur phone could be idle and data will be draining ur battery. I might be wrong sha 2 Likes |

149%?? What kind of phone are you using that dosent even understand what % means? Anyway screens need more battery power to light up each pixels and even more power if the brightness is high. And when idle, your phone should use very minimal battery power. Check out your background activity op. I reccomend greenify for some rogue apps. 2 Likes |

Its expected, your screen is always active, while you doing some stuffs on your phone, the idleness comes into play when the phone is at sleep/timeout. The longer the duration of the phone when it's ON, the higher the percentage of the battery consumed by screen+idleness. 1 Like 1 Share |

that's why I love amoled and can't use anything without amoled 0% battery consumption of standby if you wanna buy my phone and you're in East hala me it's galaxy s4 i9505 4g LTE version with lollipop firmware optimized with some kernel tweaks that makes it battery saver also you can pre-order your extended battery of 6000 - 1000mah from me on any Samsung phone at affordable rate. google what extended battery for Samsung phones or other phones if you don't know what it means.

So let's look at it this way. when you have a full meal and after digesting, try sitting in a position - you may even tap a nap or sleep out the whole day... when you wake up, you still find yourself to be hungry even though you did no significant work...right? so what uses the energy from the food digested? your body's internal metabolic processes. similar to a phone. even though your phone's screen is turned off, there are ongoing processes. your phones CPU is never 100% idle. it handles background services such as powering on the phones telephony service so you can make and receive calls, some system apps and services too.. e.g email, alarm clock, phone network e.t.c are still running in standby. these are the culprit. I hope you get the drift. 3 Likes 1 Share |
