If this Nickel discovered is large enough to generate lots of revenue for Nigeria, why then is Buhari spending scare revenues from crude oil to import massive quantity of arms and ammunition and sending them with Janjaeeeeed soldiers to the Niger delta, instead of having Nigerians negotiate for a better governing system which shall stop vandalism of oil pipelines, stop Boko Haram violence, stop Secessionists?

The long thing they are on is: ignorance about how peaceful atmosphere brings wealth and prosperity to countries.

The richest countries on earth today, for example, Switzerland, Japan, do not depend on export of Minerals.

Tourism money alone can make Nigeria rich if the Buhari clan signs onto restructuring Nigeria's polity to fiscal federalism where every state or region uses what it finds within its environment to develop the area and pay little tax to a lean federal government.
With this, Boko Haram violence, Avengers, IPOB or MASSOB etc, shall have no business continuing.

Peaceful atmosphere comes. Tourism money alone can make Nigeria a very rich country.

Tin,Limestone,Coal then Crude Oil......now Nickel.Diversification? No! True diversification is in the people. Tourists come and stay in motels and hotels,eat at restaurants,go to theaters,conservation centres and buy artefacts.Egypt attracts over a million annually, not even talking of The UAE. Government gains in taxes.

Providing training and locally manufactured farming equipments to speed up mechanization and ensuring food security. Excess is bought back and preserved in silos for export.

Communcation and Technology in the reach of the greater part of the population will diversify this economy. This will encourage more tech start-ups and home based e-commerce. However,considering a 9% communication service tax proposed by the government,ICT businesses might see a decline in the near future.
These minerals "diversification" will only put more money in the hands of the cartels and not the impoverished Nigerian population.
