As part of effort in bringing better services to their esteem customers, Whatsapp have decided to announce December 31st 2016 as the end date of supporting some types of phone.
Whatsapp which is the most popular messaging application platform used by almost 90 percent of smartphone users in the world will no longer support some mobile devices as their planning to expand their app features and add more security tools to their app.

The affected mobile devices include;
All Blackberry phones including blackberry10 devices

The company added through its blog post that despite it was a tough decision for them to make, but still the right one in order to provide better service and better ways to keep in touch with your family, friends and loved ones using Whatsapp. Therefore if your phone falls within the stated range, you are advised to either upgrade to the newer version of Andriod, iPhone, Window or get a newer ones before the due date.

My advice to you, If you’re planning to buy a second-hand phone for whatsapp reason, Please kindly beware of the version to buy as to prevent you from buying unsupported Whatsapp phone.

Whatsapp will successfully send all these phones to a state of oblivion.

Anyone still using any of those devices, most especially d Nokia symbian actually stuck in d stone age.

The one affected is iOS 6 not iOS 7 so ur fone is not included

New marketing strategy to sell android brands. I think android and Zuckerberg must av a secret deal somewhere. By the way, I see telegram taking over.

Will it affect BlackBerry Z30! Cos I keep receiving massages that my phone won't support Whatsapp come next year.

that will be the slow dying of whatsapp

whatsapp gained popularity through its versatility and compatibility with almost all device that to the extent of killing network provider's regular SMS because it supports almost every phone that has internet connection and it doesn't requires much data to flow.

this is a very bad move yeah i know that the world is moving but what about those that can't afford such devices so they'll be cut off from service.

By the way, I see some people saying who cares up there; the truth is they actually care, just that they are negatively affected by the news and development.
Guys, please take heart, ehn, and there's still hope/time to switch to a more favorable phone/device. Funny enough, it doesn't even have to be an expensive one.
Left to me, I think WhatsApp rocks, and I wouldn't want to miss such a very useful communication medium for anything in the world, I'm sorry.
