YENAGOA ——-Nigeria’s Minister of State for Agriculture, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri yesterday said, farmers in Bayelsa State would get adequate funding from federal government to boost production of agricultural produce in the state.

Senator Lokpobiri who stated this at a town hall meeting with All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Bayelsa State Chapter at Achievers Farm, Igbogene Yenagoa promised protection of state quoter of loans meant for farmers in the state against what was obtainable previously.

He stressed the need for a cordial working relationship between farmers in the state and federal government to help achieve its programmes and policies.

Multiple farming associations who expressed their delight in the town hall meeting with the Agric Minister used the medium to showcase their various agricultural produce and huge prospect and its sustainability in Bayelsa State.

Also present at the town hall meeting was Udengs Eradiri, President of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) who thanked Senator Lokpobiri for the decision to visit his own state farmers to foster hope and water down the dividends of democracy and that of his ministry to Bayelsa State.

Udengs also expressed confidence in the Agric Minister’s ability to project good image as minister of the federal republic of Nigeria with a lasting grassroot track record.

Other top government officials who attended the meeting was the Deputy Governorship Aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Wilberforce Igiri and Commissioner for Agriculture, Bayelsa State.

What Nigerians need now to come out of this self made recession is action before words , not will get but got because we are tired of APC failed promises further annoying by liar Muhammed words.
