Church is a family. The heads or pillars of the family are the father and mother, otherwise called daddy and mummy. I guess that's why we call them daddy and mummy.

It's just because most Christians don't read their Bible and gain knowledge for themselves. The Bible in Matthew 23:9 clearly states: Moreover, do not call anyone your father on earth, for one is your Father, the Heavenly One.

Exodus 20:12 Says Honour thy father and thy mother...., Mathew 15:4 and Ephesians 6:1-3. Also told us to honour our father and mother which is the first commandment with a promise. Pls if you don't understand the Bible seek counseling.

After an argument in church resulting from "call me mommy and I am older than you”, I have been having this curiosity, why are pastors now called “Daddy” and their wives “mummy?” personally, I do not believe that it is right to address a pastor as “Daddy”. Like pastor is not enough respect to someone who teaches the Bible? Jesus was called "Teacher" and not Daddy. Is there any bible verse to wrong my thought or are we now adopting our own style of Christianity? And why would a pastor even accept such a title when our father in heaven is also addressed as such?

The fact is, true Christians obey God's commands as found in the Bible. They don't use high sounding title for their leaders. If you read the remaining verses, you will see the difference between true christianity and counterfeit ones.
True Christians actually obey Jesus commands including the one found in Matthew 28:19,20.

Did he tell you he was looking at anyone. Issues like this should be addressed calling these people daddy and mummy gives them this thought that they can't be questioned even when they have done something bad. These days i see olde people bend and kneel for their pastors. Married women who don't respect their husbands at home go on their knees at the sight of their pastors. Nigerians have turned these clergies to God and it's giving them the power to ride and oppress their congregation.

My thought is... I don't think the pastors opted to be called such by assumption!

The people call them that and either they love it or have told them not to call them but people still ignorantly call them that despite Jesus' command not to call Anyone father but God only.

If we knew better I don't think we'll stubbornly still call Christians fathers.

Because when you call thieves (pastors or so-called, 'men of god') Daddy and Mummy, they expect you to obey them even more than your parents. So that if they order you to do anything, you do it without asking questions.

It is a control measure just like religion, which is a huge manipulative tool. Religion was created to control id*iots who can't think for themselves.

Does anyone still wonder why Nigerian pastors are very rich while most of their id*iotic followers are poor? Because their dumb church congregations are usually brainwashed to give all their money to "recieve riches and blessings from god".

Religious id*oits don't know that most of them perhaps have better morals than their thieving and morally-bankrupt pastors!
