seunoni34:Oga Seunoni34, I also once lived in the illusion that MD5 hash can't be reversed, but, I just discovered its a lie. There are several free hash reversal sites/apps online...all you need is just to know the hashing algorithm...and the algorithm can be guessed fairly easily if one is familiar with popular hashing algorithms. Also, PIN is stored on cards, hence, it might not be impossible to get the PIN off the card if he has a card/chip reader .... best bet for banks is to use multiple algorithms for the hashing |

seguno2:We are talking about a Professor in a Federal University and from the post might also be working part time in a private uni (Bells). If after all this, he can't have just 3m in savings, dats wen we should ask questions |

seunoni34:this person is well informed. You are indeed an expert in the field. I was wondering myself. There are so many irregularities in the story. Like.... it took a university lecturer 3 days to realise his atm is lost? Haba! Not a market woman oh! University lecturer fa! Is he the one that developed the software? They just said software! What software? How come nobody else has heard of an atm pin breaking software. |

funshybam:Even those reversal sites don't reverse correctly. One thing the sites/apps do is to randomly guess words and md5 hash them and then compare with the md5 the attacker wants to decrypt. Also, I just cited md5 as an example of a one-way hash, I know the banks card service providers won't be so stupid to be using a hash known to everyone to encrypt a card pin. I'm sure the card issuers are using a stronger and private hash that obviously nobody knows / can ever decrypt. The PIN is stored in the card which is an hardware on its own so the hash will most likely be in bytes code not normal text characters like md5 hash and as such will be difficult to guess or dehash. I'm perfectly sure it's a one-way hash. You will also need a card reading hardware like a pos kind of machine to decrypt it not a software like this fake genius thief and ignorant media insinuated, and being a byte code encryption, there's a 99.99% chance that attacker will never get it right except he's a god. |

seunoni34:Exactly. The story is definitely fake. How can one withdraw N2,000,000 in 2days via ATM when the maximum per day is N150,000? If he was a computer whiz, why is he a driver? That story doesn't add up. Big men are used to giving their helps their ATM pin and card to withdraw on their behalf because of laziness. |

doskie:It is very possible to not realise that your atm is lost for days cos you might not need it and have an assortment of cards in your wallet giving you the illusion that it is where it should be. It does not take intelligence, one just needs to be busy and not have an immediate need for the card. |
| Re: Driver Steals UNILAG Lecturer’s ATM Card, Withdraws N2.7m by neocortex: 7:07am On Sep 11, 2016 |
seguno2:Tax is deducted from a lecturers salary at the source, that is the standard practise for all corporate and government institutions, so there is no tax fraud to investigate here except you have evidence that he has other non-standard jobs. Professors in federal universities earn an average of 400-500k per month, in addition he is reported to also work in bells university, do you think it is outrageous for a man who earns 4.5mil a year(excluding bells salary) should be investigated for having millions in his account ? |
| Re: Driver Steals UNILAG Lecturer’s ATM Card, Withdraws N2.7m by neocortex: 7:14am On Sep 11, 2016 |
horsepower24:"Withdrawal" doesn't necessarily mean "cash withdrawal", I have once purchased items worth 2 mil at POS terminals within two hours with no issues. From the story he bought many things, he probably used the card to purchase those items directly instead of withdrawing cash which is limited to 150,000. |
| Re: Driver Steals UNILAG Lecturer’s ATM Card, Withdraws N2.7m by ekhai(m): 7:28am On Sep 11, 2016 |
This story is watery. I don't know how long it took the Prof to know his ATM was missing to enable the driver to withdraw and spend so much. I recall maximum Withdrawer per day is 150k. l need clarification. |

AntiWailer:Quite a number of Federal university lecturers are also lecturers at private universities. One lecturer at OAU, lectures in 4 private universities. They are always on the move. That is why the standard of university education has fallen drastically in Nigeria. |

seguno2:you are confidently spilling rubbish.. A federal university professor earns nothing less dan 700k a month.. he also teaches in a private uni. he wont be paid less dan 350k For every month Now ask urself, ow long has he bren in service ? I see you lack financial management considering ur parochial mentalized statement . |
