1. Underpass tunnels gets flooded everywhere even in developed and advanced countries with superb engineering skills so what's incompetency got to do with anything?


2. Cars are not supposed to go inside the tunnel when flooded so the driver benefited from his own foolishness and stupidity.


3. The only thing i'll blame the gov. for is not putting some kind of flood warning there telling drivers not to drive through when it rains.

What hatred. That is a major road traversing that tunnel with precious few alternatives. It is like making the overpass intersection along Ikorodu road at Maryland, Lagos a tunnel instead, in a state which basically has tropical weather, that is 8 months of rainfall a year and you expect it to work. What kind of stupidity is that. There are many alternative designs that could be used to handle traffic without this kind of disaster. Whoever is in charge has made a serious mockery of himself and wasted public funds. That contraption has no future. In those places you picture, underground drainage comes standard. And if cannot manage a subsurface drainage network you have no business toying with subsurface roadways. It is no hatred. The people are in their right to be incensed, livid, mad with this rubbish. If you know how long it took to build and the disruption and discomfort road users suffered during its construction you will just keep silent.
