Greetings from Me to my fellow Nairalanders. Pls I got something bordering me within, and I feel it's proper I pour it out here in this forum, so I can be advised, corrected, or Abused by some, and also others can as well learn from this. I got this business idea which is very rare, and I know how much feasibility study I did before I concluded getting to start this business, so with just a mere chat with my elder sister about this business, the next thing I heard from my brother is that she is about to venture into this particular business, I was amazed that faithful evening, and had kept my call. She has the resources to an extent, while I only knew how to start it up from the scratch and with written down goals, and hardwork taking it to greater heights. What about doing a partnership with her? some may ask, well she never admitted that she stole it from me, and she's so much of an authoritative type to wanna work with. So pls I need advice whether to still continue with this business idea or back out for her? |

Well you never signed a patent for the idea so you can't make her stop. In a case of stolen Idea, whether the creator gives up on the idea or not depends on the nature of the idea. If it is the type where the first to implement it wins, then you can't help but give up. If it is the type where the one who does it better wins then you can consider taking up the challenge. But you have to consider all things including the size of the capital you will both be employing to know whether you will be able to implement the idea better than her. |

Towncrier007:Actually If it were me, I would give up on the idea and look for a new one. I mean I will just consider it a case of stolen idea, learn from it to be careful with sharing my great ideas with others and look for another idea, heck I will make sure I find a much better one so that it will pain her. And since like you said it's family, it won't hurt as much as it would if you lost the idea to a stranger or an enemy. ![]() |
