Until this country liberalizes its economy and gets rid of the regulations and bureaucracy that stifle business and job growt this country would not reach its full potential.
If i were the President i would use this crisis as an opportunity to restructure the country along regional lines and COMPLETELY cease allocations. This are the things that stifle innovation and economic progress in this country.

Who will he call? He is a professional himself cos since 2003 he have been maintaining 150 cows until 2015, then who's more professional than Buhari?
Secondly, he is recession himself cos when he overthrew Shagari in 1983 Nigeria went into recession and u people expect the opposite in 2016.

A man that is naturally brainless is brainless for life.

How many times would this government summon emergency meeting..?

The solution is to simply sack the economic team at hand and form a new team... Period!

All because you want to save a few, many must suffer..

Up there they wrote "brainstorm" Question is, does Buhari have a brain? How can he brainstorm when he does not possess a brain? Why do we like to LIE to our sorry-selves like this?

Nice development! Reflating the economy requires emergency interventions of different kinds.

Sell government assets (beginning with some presidential planes), borrow money (but at low interest rate) and inject in productive sectors, use some of the recovered loots (from Patience Jonathan, Dasuki, Akpobolokemi, Nenadi Usman, mettuh, etc) to address some of our immediate needs. And very soon, our economy will be on real growth and development.

See the useless Ngozi suggesting Nigeria look inward to tackle the economic woes! Why couldn't she ensure they do same? Instead, she was busy signing import waivers on luxury goods and giving money to Dasuki. May Amadioma strike your mouth!

These pained frustrated sadists, na una go tire. Your lords (the Ineffectual Buffoon and his Puff Puff useless minister of finance) put us in this mess.

The useless administration met over $47 bn in our foreign reserves, sold crude at above $100 per barrel on the average, took external loan for projects and fighting insurgency.

What did they do with the loans they took? What did they do with $17bn from the FR? What about the ECA? What of the loans for projects and insurgency? They looted all but you expect a magic the moment they lost!

At the end of the day, the good-for-nothing president and the shameless minister could only manage to leave about $27bn in our foreign reserves, unpaid pensions of FG retirees, borrowed money to pay salaries of FG workers, allowed BH to control three states in Nigeria.

If all described above does not mean failure, I don't know what else is.

The years between 2011 and 2015 are better forgotten in the life of our dear nation.

More than 30 yrs experience tells me: Nigerian Masses are running from North to South looking for economy solutions. But some of us knw that, some few satanic, power-hunger and agent of new world order individuals in this country know how, whr and whn will this problem end.

We expect immediate steps pls, this meeting is for budgeting planning against next 2017.Although we may rely on the statement by the senate president, they should find the causes and come up with definite policies. We need immediate solutions to thiis recession by this administration.

calm down jor. These names were there before, what good happened to Nigeria under their watch? Even a person without economics certificate knows that our problem is simply the dwindling price of oil in the int'l market. Unless we diversify our economy, we will remain in this conundrum. The unfortunate part is, whr do we get the money to diversify now wen we didn't save for today? Is it not this Okonjo Iweala dat gave import waivers and free access to our treasury to PDP members you are hoping to remedy Nigeria?

Madam NOI...abeg spell it out to them. You were vague in telling them to look inwards. These dullards will look and look and see nothing that they are doing wrong. Please spell it out by listing everything they are doing wrong. Pls, na beg I dey beg oooo. These people are just utterly incompetent.
Re: Recession: FG Summons Emergency Session Over Economy by maursatt: 11:25am On Sep 15, 2016
From records, when a country goes into recession one way out is milking the people, call it different names you might not be wrong- structural adjustment programs as the case may be, increasing utilities bills etc. I live in Spain I know what I am talking about. So, the people must be ready to pay more for anything, so when Ngozi said look inward that is one of the way out of recession.

It's enough to say everyone who has ruled this country from Balewa to Buhari are incompetent. They all lack vision.

The simplest way is to injet money into circulation by borrow at a low interest rate. The present interest rate can never solve economy recess talkless of bringing it to recovery. Selling of govt assest will also go a long way. Pumbing money into micro.small amd medium enterprises will help to develop our own economy and stop over reliance on foriegn goods.

If Gej were to be your father, maybe you would have been reasonable or Ngozi been your mother, maybe you would've been more useful with your life somewhere in London than campaigning for APC more than 18 years after winning elections. All your Facts( propaganda) are outdated and is becoming boring because we've discovered them for what they are,LIES.
You better stayoff here a bit and reflect on your impression about PMB,maybe you'll realise he's set everyone whether rich or poor backwards with his lack of policy direction and putting square pegs in round holes. The government is even failing in its first task of administration as can be seen in the frequent darkness in our airports, (our get way to the world and only God knows if they are not doing a dirty business).
Unless your unemployed, Buhari is unfit to govern present Nigeria with vibrant youths (enterpreneurs)who needs an enabling environment to thrive in and that's why opon on the alleged looting of Nigeria by Nigerians the economy was still the biggest in Africa.
Until we bring people like Gej and NOI with their team back,am sorry we ain't going to see development in Nigeria considering our present structure.
With your reference to Gej, the architect of the present economic chaos, you 've not said anything tangible &reasonable

If Prof. Pat Utomi, Dr. Ngozi Okojo Iweala, Prof. Charles Soludo and Alhaji Sanusi are not in that economic meeting it is null and void. they are just joking. Mrs. Kemi Adeosun is dearth of ideas
