Happy Amberacious Day

Ring the bell, let all with ears hear.
It's the most exciting day of the year.

Jesus may own 25th of every December,
But I am the Lord of every 15th of September.

I stand proudly September born.
To be awesome, I have solemnly sworn.

So today, on this very terrestrial landscape,
I plead guilty to my crime of womb escape.

Gratitude to the greatest mum, my accomplice,
For your bravery in the face of the labour police.

In pains you pushed me to safety, home and dry.
Watching you suffer caused my first cry.

Gratitude is also what I have come to give,
To my father who taught me how to live.

Your schooling is dearer than my education.
Your footsteps take me nearer to my destination.

Gratitude to my parent-mates, young and old.
Growing up with you is the greatest story untold.

Gratitude to the beauty behind my every smile,
You make my lifetime worries shorter than a mile.

Gratitude to every stranger that became a friend,
Your gift of friendship I will cherish till my end.

Gratitude to all my selfless teachers,
Both educational and lifestyle preachers.

My bread buttered, thanks to the baker.
Gratitude to God Almighty, my Maker.

For who am I, for You to be this mindful?
For the gift of salvation, I am forever grateful.
