Yes, karma is not always the cause of suffering. For example those souls being prepared for mastership who have already worked off their karma can be put through a lot of difficult conditions so that they can have a better understanding of the human condition and be in a better position to render help to their fellow souls. You can never understand what somebody is going through unless you have worn the shoes yourself.

Everything is always down to the choices soul makes. Are those choices based on love or are they based on selfishness . loving actions lays a foundation for more love coming into your life at future incarnations. It becomes progressive. At a point these loving actions earns you the right to strive for mastership. Then the master appears
and plants your feet firmly on your road back home to God.

Divine Spirit protects us from confusion by pulling the veil over our memory when we are reborn.

The reason is that people who have not had the same experience will subject you to scorn and ridicule. So we emphasize on the individual having his or her own experience . once you experience it, the arguments , the questioning ends. The beauty of the experience is that it is verifiable. You proof and verify it for yourself. I have plenty but it is my own proof and can never be yours.
The records of past lives on earth are kept in the causal plane or second heaven. It can be assessed through the spiritual exercises of ECK, The basic being the singing of the HU.
The reason also why these memories are only opened to those who are spiritually matured is that immature souls may not be able to handle what they see. For example how will you react if you are shown that your current best friend killed you in your past live.
So these are the issues here. For us we are not interested in convincing anyone. Your spiritual growth is your own personal responsibility. We only point out the possibilities that abound. You have to walk the path yourself.

We choose our parents and our circumstances because they suit our spiritual needs
